The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Morning DMC, enjoy your day off! I think you're off, right?

Good morning Mark, I have flowers for Susie šŸ’

Morning Janie, you've been busy in the kitchen! Thanks for the coffee, I was just out taking care of the chickens and need a warm up (it's 6*).
Yes! We are on our way to town to sign tax papers. We were supposed to go at 3:00 but we changed it due to the snow moving in.

Anyone have an idea on how to save a keyboard? I spilled my coffee on it (plain black)I just got this new iPad/keyboard 2 weeks ago.:he I quick tipped it over and used my blow dryer on it. It’s sitting in front of the storage heater right now. Thankfully it didn’t get the iPad. Lesson learned the hard way unfortunately:hmm

DMC, I just did a quick search of several answers and the only thing they have in common is to disconnect it from all power sources and remove the battery. Some said to use a hair dryer on it, others suggested the bag of rice @janiedoe said. Others said to take it apart (seems kind of scary). Some said to remove the keys to dry the inside. One source said it can take 12-24 hours to completely dry out and then try rebooting it.

Good luck!

If you can get batteries out, those get pulled first. Your keyboard probably does not have removable batteries though. An air duster can push liquid out of the keyboard area. Then turn it upside down to dry.

Heat can be as bad as water so don't get it too hot.

Coffee is better than soda but there might still be enough acid to cause problems later. Often keyboards have a plastic cover between the keys and electronics so can take some liquid and be fine.

Good morning all. DMC . . Our snow has arrived! Yes! It actually looks a bit like a blizzard out there. My Cooper is watching.
