The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

We’ve done a great job…..of procrastinating and discussing it. <sigh> First Ken was sick, then we had 2 medical appointments in Billings, which we always turn into a day-long event while we’re up there, then I had to stock up on my chicken and beef stocks - an all day process - then the sun was shining, then it was cloudy outside, then we spent a day poking around in Cody…….and still haven’t opened the paint cans. <sigh>

You can't rush into things like painting, it takes a lot of pondering and considering and working up the energy to do it.

Good morning all!

Sounds like the bursa is pretty darned inflamed!

Never matters to me….either way I have another dirty cup to wash. <sigh>
Looks like you are right. Olecranon Bursitis. His inflammation was about 8 times higher then normal. She gave him an antibiotic as a precaution and said if he starts to feel not right to get his butt back in.

Morning Blooie.

Sorry DMC.
My dad used to have the fluids drawn off his elbows and knees frequently. He was a tough guy, but it was obvious that it was very uncomfortable when fluid built up.
I hope your husband doesn't have to move to a warmer climate, but if so, come to Texas! 🤣

We have talked about going to Texas or Arizona in the winter to try it out. I may end up on your door step 😆
My husband took ibuprofen last night and that’s rare for him. I hope this isn’t a chronic thing. I still think it’s coming from his fall. It’s bothered him since the end of November.

Those injuries have a way of coming back and biting us in the behind. You guys should go to TX or AZ for the winter. You could take your camper down and bask in some sunshine for a few months instead of shivering up there in the frozen north.

I would love to but hubby would not take the camper that far. I would like to try it for a couple weeks just to break up the winter.

The summer is the time to visit Texas. Lol.
My daughter has a theory that most settlers ended up here in the winter. The temperature was mild, and they thought it was heavenly.
When the hot summer came along, they had already built and settled in and it was too much trouble to leave, even though it was hot as h***. 🤣
We do have hook ups for an RV though, so come on!
If his doctor did blood work, or an MRI to get his diagnosis, then it is probably chronic Bursitis. If not, maybe it is related to the fall. On the other hand, the falls may have been a combination of dizziness from covid, and clumsiness from the swelling joints/Bursitis.

They did an X-ray and bloodwork. The swelling just came on a couple days ago. He’s had just pain in the elbow since he fell. The dizziness was his blood pressure being so low. He ended up in the hospital one night at the time he had covid. They took him off his blood pressure pill for a month.
I think I’ll visit in the winter:lol:
DMC, is he using a hot pad or heat packs? That may help relieve some of the pain. Be careful with the ibuprofen, it can cause liver problems, as well as ulcers. Make sure he eats something when taking it.
He’s not. Wouldn’t an ice pack work better for inflammation?
I take ibuprofen every day. It doesn’t bother me. It’s probably killing my liver though.
