You can get a flat tire 5 miles from home. DW got one a few weeks ago on the way to work. I think she made it more than 25 miles of the 35 mile commute. Fortunately a guy with tools in his truck (some kind of tradesman) happened by as she was jacking the car. Goes a lot faster when you happen to have an impact wrench and a 21mm socket in your truck ;)

And we got a flat in my car last summer 10 miles from home coming back from Maine - 11 PM. I'll save you the sad tale of "24 hr AAA towing".

Many years ago, DW didn't make it 1/2 mile from home going to the rink in the morning. Screw in the tire, probably from the neighbor's construction. Fortunately I was 2 minutes behind her so she took my car while I put the mini spare on hers, she was responsible for opening the rink.

They did an X-ray and bloodwork. The swelling just came on a couple days ago. He’s had just pain in the elbow since he fell. The dizziness was his blood pressure being so low. He ended up in the hospital one night at the time he had covid. They took him off his blood pressure pill for a month.
I think I’ll visit in the winter:lol:

He’s not. Wouldn’t an ice pack work better for inflammation?
I take ibuprofen every day. It doesn’t bother me. It’s probably killing my liver though.
An ice pack may help the swelling, but cold makes Bursitis much more uncomfortable. The heat is more for the comfort.

I hear what you’re saying and I’ve said the same thing. He’s always prepared with tools and everything. I can’t change how he thinks unfortunately.

Buzzard Ballerinas!

Here? Spring is never "sooner".

AND don't sample the goods!

Because?
I happened to sample a lot of goods while I was there. The sugar snap peas and sweet 100 tomatoes were so good! The nasturtium flowers were spicy and the broccoli type thing, called something different, was not my favorite. Too bitter. The worms make the farm work.

Actually Ibuprofen was largely responsible for my Stage 4 kidney disease. When my nephrologist banned me from ever taking it again, he said I should take Tylenol but in moderation because it is too hard on the liver. :idunno
They tried blaming my sister's kidney problems on Ibuprofen. I knew what she was taking, it was Tylenol, reported along with her medications sent to me yearly. My sister was dieing with kidneys shutting down. I had been sick for a while and wasn't able to get to the Dr. when she was taken to
a nephrologist. I finally made it because she was not doing well. Poor thing was getting sick and throwing up right in his office! She was swollen. She was pale. I asked when he would get her started on dialysis. He said her numbers were fine. I checked what they were later when I got home. I'm thinking, he calls this fine? He wanted to see her again within the week. I went again. He was ready to send her home again. I had needed my daughter in law to take me that day as I still wasn't feeling well. Again, she's throwing up in his office! This time I wasn't having it. I slammed my hand down on that ..paper covered bed they have..made quite the noise. As my daughter in law said later, I got to see the mama bear come out today. I told him how she was acting. I won't go down the list, but there was enough of them sitting right there in front of him. He finally says, yeah, I guess we can get her started on dialysis. Poor Lisa. She was close. The Dr. that saw her in her ..new.. care facility I moved her into, came up to her and asked her without knowing her mental capacity, ..do you know how close you were to dieing? I'm thinking, the Nephrologist saw this mentally handicapped girl in a home, at her age, over 50.......now I'm judging. What else could it be? Why did he let it get so bad. And why did he blame Ibuprofen? She had literally drowned a couple of years before. Brought back with help.. another story. Did a number on her kidneys. She was so miserable she was saying, I just want to go home and see mom in Heaven. She may not have stayed on Dialysis long, but I had her for close to another year. And, I had her home for 5 weeks here at home to pass. I learned a long time ago with my Richard that some Drs need to be set set straight in their way of thinking and doing things. Whew, vent over. Where did that come from? I got started and it brought back some memories.

in my case it was a combination of Ibuprofen and long term Celebrex use. I took the max dose of Celebrex twice a day for over 12 years. The nephrologist was very understanding about needing to control my severe arthritis, so the plan we came up with was to stop the Ibuprofen first and recheck my numbers in a few weeks. We did that, and sure enough the numbers came back up. But they still weren’t very good. Next we stopped the Celebrex doing the same thing. They came up a little more.

I certainly don’t mean to imply that those were the absolute only causes of my kidney disease. We still have no answer to that, but bear in mind that I’d been self-cathing for 7 years before the kidneys started failing, so I’ve always had some difficulty with my urinary system. But eliminating those two culprits did make a difference, and later on we also tweaked my heart meds.

I so agree with you about needing to get militant when it comes to some doctors. I’ve done it for Kendra numerous times, and for myself as well. I once hung my favorite doctor in effigy on the door of my hospital room! :he
