Our redbud trees are starting to bloom. I haven't seen a single blue bird. We have plenty of cardinals, but no robins. The waterfowl has been scarce this year too.

I haven't seen any robins yet but I did see a sparrow. In my office, dead. There was a little spot on the catio where the hardware cloth came loose so guess he got in the catio and then the cats dragged him in through the cat door to play.

There isn’t one anymore. The Proud Cut was sold and the quality of the food plummeted. Most locals won’t go near it anymore. Ken and I didnt know this and went in one day. I always, always order a bowl of their French Onion soup and Ken gets the Rodeo Burger. He can’t eat it all so he usually cuts it into quarters, then I have my soup and 1/4 of his burger. So when we were ordering and all I ordered was the soup, the waitress asked me if I wanted anything else. I told her no, I’d just have a bit of Ken’s burger. She went red in the face and informed me that if he shared his meal with me, she’d have to charge us an extra $2.50. WHAAAAT? I said we’d done that for at last 10 years, but she was adamant - and embarrassed. I said, “Look at our ages.,.we can’t eat huge meals anymore. So when he can’t eat it all and gets a to-go box, I can sit in the car right out front and eat that 1/4 for free, but if I do it in here it costs me?” She said, “I’m afraid so. New owners here and that’s the policy.”

Meal came. The soup wasn’t that rich, dark brown I have eaten for years….it was gray and looked and tasted like dishwater. It wasn’t even hot, and the cheese on top was unmelted strands of bagged mozzarella. I couldn’t find our waitress so I called someone else over. She told me our waitress was down in the basement for a few minutes. I complained about the soup and this new waitress just shrugged her shoulders and said that it was what I ordered. Period. I didn’t eat. Our first waitress came back with our ticket and it was extremely obvious that she‘d been down in that basement having a good cry. We’ve never been back. Check out the reviews…they make for some interesting reading. people have reported that when they’ve complained about their meals, the owners have actually come to their tables and yelled at them!

So now we either hit the China Buffet or one of the fast food places when we’re there. The Irma isn’t bad but we don’t often go there.

That policy stinks! And the poor waitress being stuck in the position to tell customers about it. Sorry it's turned into such a let down.

DH and I had breakfast at the Irma once, it was good. And we ate at the German restaurant downtown a few times. Don't know if it's still there but it was very good.

Hi Debby! No, definitely going to need help. There was a huge black widow in one shed and the other looks like a bomb went off
In there. I’m going to have to rent a uhaul next Friday and take my son out there to help me, it’s going to be an all day project. At least I have an idea of what and how much. In the meantime she’s going to spray the spider with bug killer.

It's nice your son is around to lend a hand! Maybe a bomb needs to go off in the shed with the spider, that would take care of that

That would stop me right in my tracks. Normal spiders give me the Willie’s.

Spiders in general don't bother me as much as other bugs. But I might make an exception for a Black Widow!

It’s not the one you see, but the one that you don’t. I always wear gloves when I’m digging around in the shed, but hopefully there’s just the one.

One of my husbands coworkers rode his motorcycle to work. At the end of the day he found a web attached to his bike so he swatted it off and rode home. By the next day he was at the ER for treatment, I think they said it was a brown recluse. My grandson says AZ and Australia are where everything wants to kill us
