exactly.......I appreciate ya'll muchly..

Good morning!

Woke up to see about 2" of snow on the ground and more falling.

What's everyone doing for Thanksgiving? We're staying home and fixing a turkey...pretty low key and just the 2 of us (plus the cats of course).

Just another quiet and traditional T-day meal - we have invited friends who also have no children or family to join us and Buddy for thanksgiving dinner.

Hey, TK, how do you roast a turkey over the campfire ? Daughter and family are on the great 50 th birthday cruise - their dogs are here. Son and his crazy dog have opted out of visiting. Dog crates crowd the kitchen. I could cook Thanksgiving, but the Princess says not necessary (I don't think she wants to deal with the clean up). We will be eating at Cracker Barrel. Son says it is a cult and we are members.

good morning sour........

it's simple.......I cheat. since I have little ones that are very busy......I opt for an electric fryer. cooks a great bird.

everything else, including the desert will be done via the fire, including a dutch oven peach cobbler.......although this year, I may go crazy and make a dutch oven blackberry dump cake......

'Dutch oven' - haven't used on of them since I was in the Boy Scouts.
I use it to cook a pot of beans all the time......since I have seasoned it multiple times over a mesquite wood fire, it gives an incredible smokey flavor to the beans.......although, copious amounts of hamhocks help as well.......

That sounds like a lot of fun. Especially the hammock part.

Pictures? That would involve going outside. Hmm, well, I'll see if I can pick up the camera after I put on 6 layers of clothes, lol.

Actually, I haven't tried downloading any photos to the new computer...might be good practice. Or really frustrating
