The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning, Debby. It is about home insurance in the state of Florida. Many insurance agencies are no longer going to cover Florida at all. The other agencies are forcing home owners, who have roofs over 15 years old, to replace them, whether they need to or not. They say they are not renewing policies otherwise.

That's the same as when we lived there 6 years ago. We had to replace the roof on the house we had because the home insurer was going to cancel our coverage if we didn't.

It doesn't seem right. I mean, you could replace a perfectly good roof, and then it could still be damaged the next day. Someone should tell them that it is a waste of resources. They obviously don't mind wasting your money.

Nope, they don't mind a bit

Fortunately, we don't have to worry about homeowners insurance for a while. The company that owns the golf course owns the house we'll be living in for now. DH sent me a bunch of pictures of it yesterday, looks like we'll be comfy.

Hi Janie, sorry if I missed you this morning :)

Fingers crossed. Just found out they're toxic 😬 hmmmmm

Mark? @swampfox440 Is is safe to touch?!

💜 money don't grow on trees 🎵

Yay! :hugs
Is there any interference with running the generator too?
I had my hands all over Susie's, she had a few of those out here. They are related to Larkspur. Were you planning on eating them? :eek:When I was a lad I ate poison ivy, I would go down and lay in the strawberry patch and gorge myself on the strawberries that were smothered with poison ivy. I still pull it off the trees bare handed but if Susie got in the flower beds she would get it bad and have to go get a shot.

Go figure, the roof is garneted for 20 years or so and the crooked insurance company knows that the crooked manufactures made the roof to last seven years. :(

YAY! So glad for you DMC, that will help get you back on the road to recovery. :hugs
Good morning Debby! It certainly makes things easier. I just called the neighbors to see if they had power. When they run a generator they have to shut their main power switch off or something. I heard their generator this morning.
