I don't suppose there was some building ordinance passed 15 years ago that required roofs to be designed better for hurricane force winds? It doesn't seem right. I mean, you could replace a perfectly good roof, and then it could still be damaged the next day. Someone should tell them that it is a waste of resources. They obviously don't mind wasting your money.
Free rent? Or at least cheap? You can save up LOTS of money for when he retires and you want to buy something.Fortunately, we don't have to worry about homeowners insurance for a while. The company that owns the golf course owns the house we'll be living in for now.
I'm glad you can look out and see some beauty along with the destruction. I guess one can only move on and try to find the bright side of life.Good morning all. It’s a beautiful day out.
Good morning everyone![]()
Good morning, Debby. It is about home insurance in the state of Florida. Many insurance agencies are no longer going to cover Florida at all. The other agencies are forcing home owners, who have roofs over 15 years old, to replace them, whether they need to or not. They say they are not renewing policies otherwise.
You may want to add a little more shade just until it catches root, but you did good that's clever with the basket Mad.![]()

I know, that would be a very Pollyanna thought.

Good morning DMC, have a great day... So glad you have power back!
Good morning Bruce, have a great day
It’s all about risk Janie. If there’s a tree too close to the roof, or damage to the roof from previous storms or that tree limb rubbing on the roof and damaging it, it can create a lot of other issues inside the house and cost more for repairs. A lot of people used to use their insurance companies to replace their roofs and such when it’s not their job. Roofs don’t last forever and it’s your responsibility as the homeowner to maintain your dwelling and the surroundings to keep it in good shape. I worked for an insurance company for almost 20 years, hated it.It doesn't seem right. I mean, you could replace a perfectly good roof, and then it could still be damaged the next day. Someone should tell them that it is a waste of resources. They obviously don't mind wasting your money.
Good morning DMC, yay for some good news. Thanks Debby!
You are right Bruce.
