The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I hope there is a "totalled car" graveyard where all the good parts can be sold. In today's connected world those parts could go anywhere in the country not just to someone who happened by the local scrapyard looking for a specific part.
We still have pick and pull places in Sacramento

Thank you, IM. I love her, but she is a Daddy's girl.
This was Brewster's predecessor, Dexter. We lost him to old age last year.
View attachment 3148185 Brewster was 4 years old, and a rescue. I felt like we needed more time to grieve Dexter, but he needed a home, quickly. It took a few weeks for Ruby to warm up to him. They are inseparable now.
This is Truman, a wire haired dachshund mix, we lost him two years before Dexter. He was hard to get over. He was almost 21 years old. Ruby was very depressed, he was her buddy. Fortunately, she had Dexter.

We have 5 dogs and a cat buried in our pet cemetery. Two were granddogs. The cat belonged to my mil. All were much loved.

Dexter and Truman were such cutie-pies :hugs I'm glad Ruby warmed up to Brewster.

Well this day is totally hosed! We’re okay - I may have lost the hearing in my right ear from the side airbag. ER says ear drum is intact but they can’t tell about structural damage behind it so they’re setting me up with an ENT. This sucks- I could only hear from that ear anyway because I’m totally deaf in my left ear and have been for 10 years.
Ohhh no Blooie, that's terrible! I'm glad you're okay but my goodness! I hope you're able to get fully checked.

Unfortunately the salvage yards won't give you anything more than $600. The cost of car parts is through the roof right now.
Currently trying to sell my car on an online marketplace first.

I'm so sorry for your loss of hearing and hope 🙏 this improves for you soon.

I'm relieved you survived this crash, that must have been so frightening. Thank god you are here :hugs💐

It's amazing how little damage can total a car, probably 95+% of it is still just fine, mostly sheet metal and bumper damage. It would be different if the van was years and years old but IIRC it is fairly new.

1:15 PM, what a weird time for a deer strike, what a weird time for the deer to even be out. I never see them in the field mid afternoon. Early morning and very late afternoon/evening.
