I started growing up on a farm before my folks moved us to the west coast. The whole area was farms and ranches. We had a one building school for all grades out in the boonies for the farm kids, so we didn’t go to town except when we had to. There was a swimmin’ hole and everything lol. That was the best way to grow up though, I spent my summers sleeping on a sleeping bag under the stars watching the fireflies as I drifted off to sleep.Good info to know! I have dried pinto beans I've never opened. Got it free from the school during the pandemic but didn't know how long they'd last.
I couldn't imagine living that far from town but, its better to be prepared than not at all.
