My youngest will be 30 in September. There were times I wasn’t sure he’d survive being a teenager

I love puppies too. And their gifts are cheaper come Christmas.

Early. It's 3:40 am here. Darn cat woke me up. Then the dogs decided to get up.

I bolted out of bed just before 5 AM to a LOUD THWACK. Went to see what fell and where. Assumed it had something to do with DD2's orange cat. He had a mouse last night but played with it too much and it escaped.

No sign of the cat or anything being down so I headed back to the bedroom confused. The lights were off but it seemed there was a dark rectangle at the bottom of the stairs (bedroom on 1st floor). Ah, one of the table leafs had fallen (don't ask why they are leaning against the wall there, I think I'll move them). I picked it up and it seemed there was still a small dark spot on the floor. Turned on the light, saw DW's cat on a chair, still no sign of DD2's cat and a flattened where the leaf had been. It is now in the compost bin for the haulers to take tomorrow.

It joined the other one DW noticed about 6:30 on the cats' scratcher in the kitchen.
By noticed I mean shrieked She's not afraid of mice but it was a sudden surprise.

At least we aren't finding barfed mouse bits. We are wondering if the lack of DD1's cat being here has taken away the "MINE, ALL MINE" competition.

His work day starts around 4am.

What the heck is happening at the golf course at that time of day??

I’m still on the right side of dirt so doing ok.

I'm loving my time here . I don't like the pool every day, but then I don't do public pools . Not sure when I'll head back yet

Happy birthday to your eldest, IM!
My youngest just turned 30, last month. I couldn't forget because June and July are our big birthday months. (And I have an alarm set for each birthday. )
He, his wife, and the granddogs are visiting the end of this month. It will be great to see them.
And in other news, I hear we are getting another grandchild sometime next year...no specifics yet for #12. It's supposed to be a secret but someone accidentally blabbed.
I love my babies. I wish they all lived closer.

Down here the crazy golfers show up before it's light outside, so the guys have to do as much work on the course as they can beforehand. This is a much busier golf course than the one in WY was, this place will see 100+ golfers a day. I guess a lot of them are vacationers.
