I generally serve as their 'guide' as I know where plants are flowering at any given time. They count all varieties - generally 20+ per visit. These folks are passionate about butterflies and impart a lot of knowledge about them to me.

You sound like my sister. She needs a spreadsheet for the books she has.

This is her spare bedroom…no bed All these shelves are full. She has several shelves in her living room too.

People that are intensely interested in something are real gems!

One of the most interesting people I've ever met was an older man passionate about bees. He was probably in his 70's when I met him and had been keeping bees for over 50 years. He would get upset when someone would say to him they wanted to keep bees for their honey because to him that was just a fraction of what made bees unique. I think about him sometimes when I see new members here talk about wanting chickens for eggs...there's a lot more to them than just eggs.

I get books from the library too. But if I really like a book, I want to keep it for reading again and libraries frown on me keeping their books.

Rarely do I read a book again. If I do, it’s because I forgot I read it.
