Good morning, All. Baked 4 types of cookies yesterday. Dough is in refrigerator for Hungarian cookies. We'll bake another 4 or 5 types today. Granddaughter had a blast and is a great help. Her two cats adapted to our house as if it was their home. They are very bonded to her - almost dog like in the way they react to her.

Hi Sour, sounds like a very productive cookie day! I'm finishing mom's cookies today and (fingers crossed) will get them to the post office this afternoon. Have fun with your granddaughter!

I hate it but we have no choice. I’m out there a whole hour. Everyone else is a half hour or less. My fingers and cheeks get the coldest. The coldest we’ve had is 3 above (while in school) with the windchill and that was awful.

Janie said what I was thinking...the people that made that recess decision should have to be out there with you!

I was glad to see they turned around and went home. Her hubby is mid 80’s and stubborn.

DH and DS may have enabled him to be stubborn another year. Good on them!

Yikes, I wouldn't want to go out in -10. How long is recess?

Fairly short given it likely takes a LONG time to get them in and out of their snow suits?

Geez, I read the later post from DMC. An HOUR??? in -10°F plus wind? That is child AND "elder" abuse!!!!!!!

Cookie making is done - I think. Anyways granddaughter is heading for home tomorrow morning. It was a joy having her here especially since it was on her own volition. She was a great influence. I did not swear one time.
