The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I remember the J.C. Penney Christmas catalogs. We wore them out.
My mother used to give us a "Christmas Tree Day" it meant that we could spread pallets on the living room floor, in front of the lit tree, and circle what we wanted, in our own catalog. One of my favorite yearly traditions. I guess those catalogs were cheap back then because my brothers and I each had one and so did my mom.

You used to be able to pick up as many copies as you wanted at the stores for free.

I wish I could now. I'd drive a few miles for just one!
I do have about six old Nordstroms Christmas wishbooks from the late 80s to early 90s

I sort of miss indoor malls!

One of my favorite stories about my mom. Back in the 60's the town we lived in was building a new indoor mall, a totally new concept in our town.

One evening my mom met a friend of hers for coffee and they decided to check out how the project was coming along. As they were driving along and looking it over, they were puzzled about how pedestrians could keep safe from cars running them over. The lack of sidewalks threw them for a loop.

The overall mall building wasn't enclosed yet and they were driving inside between where the shops were going in. :lau
