The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

The Princess is 50 % Polish, and yes you can tell. Our kids are a real mess : 25% Scottish, 25% German, 25% Polish, and 25 % Hungarian. Think there's much stubbornness there ?

Yikes, a whole stubborn force, family gatherings must be loud like ours are. I have been called pig headed more than once so I think I know what you are talking about, haha.

You must all like sausages and beer. Ever Octoberfest? It's big here in Wisconsin but so far we thankfully have never gone, bad enough I went to Country Fest once. I personally care for neither beer nor sausage, or new country music, old time stuff for me, Go Kenny Rogers, and Willie Nelson.

And I thought my family was loud because of the Italian blood :D

I think all people are loud, especially in groups, which I try to avoid like the plague, but sometimes you have to appease the parents.

Don't Italian families all like each other? I know I'm using stereo types, but there seems to be truth in them sometimes. My siblings are always at odds with each other. No one exactly gets along too well. I can't imagine what it's like to like your family members.

I have a wonderful family! We all get along. One brother that sometimes gets on the sisters' nerves, and one sister that gets too politically opinionated sometimes, but otherwise, we rarely argue. At all.

We can carry on 10 conversations at the same time and keep up with all 10 without losing a beat. :D

Wow! That is amazing and wonderful. You are very lucky. We fight over the silliest of things. My vegan brother was disgusted with me because I fed my chicks scrambled eggs, and now doesn't talk to me like he used to, My one brother doesn't talk to the other one because of??? I can't remember why, so silly it all is.

I do consider myself lucky when it comes to family. And friends too. Life is too short to let the little things be problems. And if you can't even remember them, they aren't worth arguing over :D

Amen. I was forced to sever ties with one sister, and that greatly improved my life. She is calling and attempting to get back into my life, but too much damage over too many years makes that impossible for me. My immediate family, my oldest sister and my friends complete my world. I wish it could be different, but I just can't trust her.

Good morning folks

Housework, washing and grocery shopping on the agenda today and when they are done, quality time with the gals.

The girls were fretting up a storm yesterday because of a cane toad hopping around their favourite area. We do not usually see them during the day but this guy did not look long for this world, even though he was hopping, some of his insides were hanging out of his mouth and he looked very dehydrated. As I was trying to coax him out to the front garden and a cool drain he managed to jump right in the middle of the girls .. chickens went in all directions, flapping and squawking

Between cane toads and hissing Rhinoceros Beetles, I am sure my gals have nightmares LOL

Even though she will not see it, I am sending out a kudos to my sister. Long story but she is currently rattling around in a house by herself while her hubby and their dog are living in another state. Anyways, she signed up to foster rescued greyhounds. They were desperate for fosters and she signed up yesterday morning and Freddie arrived yesterday afternoon. Some of the breeders/racers who do not want a dog anymore may contact the rescue and they may only have hours before he is put down .. I have hidden my soap box so I do not prattle on for hours about that one

Anyways, meet Freddie, her first foster. He may be “not fast enough anymore” but he just scored a huge win. Instead of money and a trophy, he just crossed the line to love, cuddles and respect!

On this picture she posted the caption “Yup, this will do. Any chance of a bigger bed? Signed: Freddie”
