Teila, we can hold off on the road trip until you move I suppose. After all, we wouldn't want to get underfoot watching you do all the packing, lol. Great idea to send DH a jar of rocks

You know, I just checked my calendar and yep, wouldn't you know it...I'm tied up at the moment. I'll be right over to help you pack when my schedule is clear.

Last time we moved Hubby managed to work it that he was at the new property before me and I had to do all the packing and organising etc ... the cheeky thing is probably going to manage to do that again!

That's the boat I was in when DH got this job up here in WY. He had to go right away and I had to pack and sell the house. My oldest son was able to come help me out for a couple of weeks, he was a real godsend. Hope you can wrangle some help too...moving is HARD work!

I wouldn't want to go through all that again. Although, it is a good way of getting rid of excess stuff.

Hey, are you going to be able to take your flock?
 
Just remembered @Blooie ..she had to move about a zillion times when her DH was in the Navy. She probably had to do 99% of it by herself.

Maybe moving builds character?

I have had to move a few times over the years due to work etc but this will hopefully be the last one .. our forever home

Most definitely taking my girls with me .. I refuse to move without them! Still haven't quite worked out the whole logistics of it yet but the plan at the moment is that hubby will be there before me and can build the coop. If he gets the job we will be able to afford to pay for a pet transport to pick them up from here and deliver them to him and their new coop. Not sure how we will work it if he does not get the job because he will still be down here with me but we will cross that bridge when we come to it.

I tear up just thinking about giving them to someone else ... I do not think I could do it to them or me
