Thanks, Debby! Yes! It definitely helps see what condition they are in without all that wool! An adult Rambouillet (average American wool sheep's) year fleece will weigh at least 10 pounds (less or more mostly depending on health and nutrition).That's really interesting, I bet those sheep look a lot skinnier when you're done! You can share pictures of that any time, I've never seen sheep shearing before.
The sheep in the 2nd picture were mostly Corriedales and probably 18 months from their last shearing. Their fleeces were probably at least 15 lbs.
