The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning, Jen. She is doing great. She removed the comb but hasn't been trying to lick or scratch. She gets the last of her pain meds today and then we will see how it goes. She is a very active dog as a rule so I will have to keep a close eye on her. She isn't supposed to go into the water for 2 weeks. That's going to be a chore. She loves to wade.
I'm glad to hear Maggie is doing well! I can imagine trying to keep her contained--she seems very bouncy! What a cutie, though. I hope she can resist the water for a little bit.
I definitely stole this from on here somewhere, so you've probably seen it for sure, but meme for Maggie Moo:

Good Wednesday morning to everyone!

It feels good out that we got that rain. Not too much on the docket today--I guess that makes it a dish and laundry day!:celebrate

I was playing a losing battle with our hummingbird feeders against the ants. I tried duct tape wrapped in reverse around the garden hanger they hang from, and they walked right over the tape. I doused them and the bottom of the pole in DE (it's just what I had because I was mad at them) and finally got some of those ant moats delivered, and they work great. Antnoyance resolved!

Have a great day!

Glad you figured out how to deter the ants, they must love that sweet nectar.

Yeah, I was going to say how I could totally get the recipe from my step-dad, but I'm sure there's no way I could find the patience to make them! 😆 I bet they were good, though!

I bet your step-dad has a wonderful recipe for tamales but I think I'll stick with buying them

I got a bag of Pink Lady apples at the store yesterday. Never had them before, but they are tasty. I'm off to make some apple crisp! Anyone that has some vanilla ice cream is more than welcome to drop by to share
Oh, I like Pink Lady apples. I think my favorite apples are Braeburn and Granny Smith. Everyone was so excited about the Cosmic Crisp apples that were developed over here, but I've never had a good one of those.

Apple crisp sounds tasty! Have a nice day, Debby!

I like them too.

I like most apples, especially if they are crisp and a bit tart. When I was growing up in NE Kansas, there was a local orchard that grew the best Jonathan apples...I miss those!

Just pulled the crisp out of the oven (there are 4 individual ones) and DH brought home ice cream and caramel sauce so I guess we'll find out after dinner how the apples turned out.

Yummalicious!
