The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hi everyone!

The luncheon was yesterday and went well. The gal that organized it even came back with her husband last night for dinner so we had her for 2 meals in one day, lol. Of course as always seems to happen, with the dining room full (and our hands full), a lot of other people came in for lunch at the same time so we were pretty much at full capacity. I worked 15.5 hours yesterday and too tired to make it downstairs to my computer. Thanks for asking how it went!

Sunflour, your Violet is so pretty. It sounds like you're having fun with the chicks!

Blooie, Linda being able to breath on her own is encouraging. I hope she continues to make strides. Please keep us posted.

Friday, glad you've been able to find a good handyman. It's always nice to be able to get chores like that taken care of. Are you working on a vegetable garden or flowers?

Btw...I went to 2 websites and ordered shoes from each company (Skechers & New Balance). Hopefully, something in the bunch works out but if not, I'll just send them back. Thanks again for some suggestions.

Hope you all are having a good evening (or day as the case may be)!

This guy is great. Tons of construction experience, loves to work so he couldn't stand retirement. Very reasonable rates. I"m pretty handy and can do a lot of things, but not the heavier construction-type stuff. Seems like the hardest part of moving to a new state is finding people you can trust.

I've got lots of veggie starts and a few flowers. think I'm going to mix everything together just for fun.

Hey sunflour I have mutt cats also and also rescues from the RSPCA. Your bubbers are adorable! Aaaw, Violet is a cutie and a brave little girl! Crystal managed to catch her 5th toe one day. I spotted drips of blood on the path and went looking to see who was injured. When I found her she had blood all over her chest and I freaked out! Turns out it was the toe .. boy oh boy, can they bleed.

Blooie still thinking of you all. That is encouraging news that Linda is breathing on her own.

Friday a good handyman is a blessing. Good luck with all the fix ups etc.

N F C I am pleased the luncheon went well but you need to slow down! This is where you insert a “Yes Mum!” or "Look Who's Talking"

DMC Your little ones are cute and coming along nicely; definitely not an ugly stage.

Just a couple of progress pics on the Forrest Beach coop which is nearly done .. just the run door, run trim, ramp and staining to go which is a good thing cos the girls fly out Friday. There is still some work required to the nest box area but that is not urgent cos none of the freeloaders are laying

Teila, your coop is looking good! DH and a couple of his crew are going to put together a temporary coop for my girls (and 1 boy) this weekend. They need more space and I need to get my office back minus dust, lol.

Good morning all!

Glad your luncheon went well. 15.5 hours in a day is going to burn you out quickly Debby!! Hope your shoes work out for you or you'll be soaking your feet in epsom salt every night.

Hey folks

I just wanted to let you know that with BYC going 'read only' mode for a few days while it switches to it's exciting and new platform and format, while some are moving over to BYH in the interim to keep in touch, I am going to use the forced down time to do those things that I keep putting off because I am having too much fun on BYC.

While I will miss you guys n' gals very much, for me, joining Back Yard Herds, while I only have 5 bantams in a suburban scenario and only needing to be a member for a few days is a little bit of overkill, so I will just catch you when BYC is back up, new and shiny!

Joined BYH with my herd of lizards just to chat on one particular thread. But then I saw they have a section on bees, so I think I'll do some research there.

I'm sure you have a zillion things to do getting ready for the move Teila, so enjoy your time off BYC!

Teila, I joined BYH for information on my elephant herd. Trust me in that there is 'no place li8ke home'.
Sour, I think your irrelephants are playing water polo with your lily pad.

Teila, we will miss your good company. Hopefully the transition will go smoothly, and Nifty @ Co. can get all of us back together soonest!

There is never a great time for a major change ( unless an individual is the one who elects to do so).

I follow 2 other forums and never post, the formatting is cumbersome and boring in comparison to the current BYC one and the folks are not as "colorful" and fun as y'all. Reckon it's because they don't talk Chicken

- but it seems we have have outgrown what this one can handle, so all we can do is go with the change, and hope some of the features we love can be included.

I sincerely hope to see all of you continue your activity at the upcoming new site

Telia, hope you get your work done - I'll have some unexpected time off from work but no energy to catch up on all the things I have been procrastinating.

Personally this is a bad time for me to make the change.....Friday nite I got sick again, high fever and pleuritic chest pain. Have been ill off and on for nearly a month and after 3 rounds of antibiotics felt well for about a week. I did go to see a doctor yesterday and I have Pneumonia - had a shot (OMG - and I'm such a wimp when it comes to injections) and have to go in today and tomorrow for 2 more shots - but he also gave me a different oral antibiotic, high dose Ibuprofen and a great cough med that really helps with the pain. Guess I'll be seeing a lung specialist soon to find out why this keeps returning. Any way, all I feel like doing is watching TV, checking out the forums and laying in bed too much. ** so, guess I'll join the herd forum and explore**.

I am worried about Blooie and her family crisis and Debby with her long work hours and aching feet - and doubt they will have time and mental energy to explore the new format for awhile
