The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

So what do you do with trophies? Can you redeem them for ice cream novelties or something? Would be great, it's so hot out here.

That's a brilliant idea! I'd be on board for that! Sorry about the heat.

OHLD - there is one patch by the hose where I wash all the feeders etc where the mud is really bad. My son (6 years) has got stuck and I've come close!

We had the most gorgeous cat turn up this afternoon. He's a young, black thing but the cuddliest cat I have ever met. He wasn't scared of our dog or our son (who is the scarier of the two in the eyes of a cat). He just wanted to be cuddled and jumped on my shoulder to worm his way into my arms - after 15 minutes I had to put him down to get stuff done, then he tried to sneak in the house. He'd sit outside and cry piteously. I'm glad our Mistletoe is deaf. She's highly territorial and would've murdered him if she'd spotted him. I think he's finally wandered home (hopefully he has one) after sitting at our door hopefully waiting for more attention for hours. He had no collar so I have no idea where he's from. Our cats are affectionate but not that cuddly. Hopefully he'll come visit me again.

Good morning!

OHLD, sorry to hear about another surgery. But maybe it's better to plan for it, than have something come up emergency-wise?

DD, hmmm...exchange trophies for ice cream? Brilliant! :lau

J, there is no such thing as a visiting cat IMO...once they decide to come around, you've been adopted.

Crazy weather here. It was 90 on Wednesday, in the 80's yesterday and today the high is supposed to be 56*. I'll take the 56 over the 90!

Hope you all have a great Friday!

Good afternoon everyone, thanks for all the encouragement, I'm trying not to think about it too much.

My freezer is full of ice cream, my husband helps with the shopping. I would like my trophies shipped to me as I've never actually won any before for anything, and have an empty trophy shelf.

Cats get dumped around here often, city folk think us country folk will take good care of their kitties. Most are too frightened to actually come near us. We put food out, but most get run over on the road or killed by Coyotes. I guess a friendly cat would join our farm.
