Oh, I plan to use it...I just don't wanna go out and get it! Not sure I could talk anyone else into digging it out and then leaving it for me while they go home empty handed. Come on, @sunflour - you know you wanna come help!

We are going to leave the entire setup just as it sits. It still looks nice, and we'll just re purpose it for yard and garden supplies. So no additional yard to reclaim - or mow!

My husband would say, "I have a chemical for that!"

Crabgrass is an annual. DD's right in that it will die at the end of the summer season, and it will have to come back from seed the next year. It's more nutritious than some other grasses that are grown as forage crops, and there are actually cultivars that people may plant in their pastures. It may be an eyesore in a lawn, but it only gets a chance to grow when cultivation practices (or the lack of them) allow it to.

They must find bugs or worms in it as they were definitely searching for something.

Half of our backyard is that muddy, especially my well worn tracks down to the chickens and quail. It's horrible!

Good morning and hello September!

J, love the photos. Are the eggs under your little bird blue or gray? Pretty!

Bunny, never knew crabgrass was an annual, that was interesting. Don't think we have that our here at our dry WY area, we're more about the sage brush.

August went out with a bang for the restaurant. It had been slow but suddenly last night we got a table of 11 that grew to 15, then a party of 10 came in, then a group of 6, another couple of people...within about a 15 minute period we totally filled up seating-wise. DH helped me with the cooking and we got them all handled but dang, that was crazy time!

Easier day today, the course is closed for the annual high school cross-country meet so I'm running errands and guess I'll be trying to replenish the prepped foods we ran through last night.

I'll be popping in later so behave (or don't, lol)!
