The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

DH came up with a brilliant idea to keep me busy in the slow winter months...a food truck! One that serves breakfast to the refinery workers who change shifts at 3:30AM. Fortunately for me, the cost of a truck is out of the question. Whew, that was close.

I know he was joking, for sure. Maybe he needs to do it hisself to keep busy while you rest up this fall/winter :)

They say that busy people stay young. Or is that, 'they age rapidly'?

They age rapidly IMO, I stay really busy and OMG the wrinkles and sags are rapidly increasing :barnie. But, don't acknowledge birthdays and they do not happen :p.

Ok, here's the garden pic: IMG_7126.jpg

Pretty pitiful but at 24 hours and 90 degrees today the plants look pretty good , this is the kinda garden we have been used to:

A couple of the Wellies...any bets who'll lay the first egg :D

The pullet on the left is named after Debby, my money is on her to lay very soon :)

Had a weird day, stuff kept happening like Google told me to do a u turn when i could see my destination ahead. Then i got ready to go someplace else, they said there was no route available????
Husband not happy with my purchases but no returns at the restore so tough.
I did get another bunny, this time a female. Will post a pic when i take one. I was in a rush to get out and water because it never rains here any more. And none in the forecast. It was 90 today! What month is this anyway?

I was going to guess Debby, just because, before I saw your guess. I have a 50% chance of being right don't I? My 2 Wellies look similar and their butts are all fat and fluffy so I am hopeful the wait will be short now.

But, don't acknowledge birthdays and they do not happen :p.
My Dad and stepmother did that for a while so I sent them "non birthday cards". Dad was easy, his birthday is the day before Halloween. I think he decided he could have them again in his early 80's, he'll be 89 next month.

Oh my gosh, I'm so pretty (as a chicken)! Tell my namesake, she better start working soon or my DH will have a 'talk' with her. If her eggs don't show up soon, I know where she can get a job driving a food truck.

I think that's a fine start on your garden, hope it does well for you.

Love the pictures Sunflour!
I look in the mirror now a days and my mother is looking back at me. Scary how the age creeps up on a person!
I lost one of my new girls the other day ...and not to a predator. I went out to the coop to let them out and she was laying on the ground. Must have happened right after we locked them up. She had just started laying eggs.

We got 4 inches of rain this week, I'll share! We are heading into harvest so hoping that's it for a while.

Aww, so sorry DMC :hugs
Thanks Debby! It's frustrating. My new girls are just starting to get friendly. We lost one of our stray cats that have been hanging around...a coon got it. It was Spuds twin:( Craig has spent a lot of time trying to tame them...so cute! A couple run to meet him when he heads to the barn to feed them. I told him he's the cat whisperer. He can't pet them yet though.
