The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Thank goodness!! Tell him BYC keeps you busy:lol:

Love the pictures Sunflour!
I look in the mirror now a days and my mother is looking back at me. Scary how the age creeps up on a person!
I lost one of my new girls the other day ...and not to a predator. I went out to the coop to let them out and she was laying on the ground. Must have happened right after we locked them up. She had just started laying eggs.
I am scared i may turn into my mother! She has Alzheimer's. Every time i forget something i worry.

As for gardens, we have TONS of tomatoes right now, more than we know what to do with lol some peppers. Not many but a few. All are delicious!

The rain is killing my beautiful tomato plants though :(

Well, I think I put too much fertilizer on at first so they were slightly burning but now with all the rain from the hurricanes which only stopped the other day they're dying :/
Still producing though i think

I took a DNA test with 23 and me. I have a slightly increased risk of late onset Alzheimer--after 65 years old

There are some things to do:
Keep your mind active
Move! A study found that even with Alzheimer type brain changes, those that were not sedentary did not show symptoms. Many that showed symptoms and were sedentary did not have brain changes.
Eat a healthy diet--vegetables and some fruit. Fatty fish and or take fish oil for omega 3

There were other things but it seems like these are the top three

I have heard from doctors that if you live long enough you will eventually develop Alzheimer's.
