The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Veronica and I aren't feeling a lot of love here. I think you are biased. ;)

Veronica is asleep at the moment but tomorrow I am going to tell her she better get on that first egg or be SHAMED!

Aww, sorry Bruce and Veronica. I think you guys are great too. But it's hard when Chicken Debby is involved...kind of feel like I have to cheer for the home team, you know? Don't worry about me playing favorites. @sourland is the man in charge of deciding the contest winner.
P.S. He may be inclined to accept any and all bribes, lol.

Hi DMC! Did you get your beans combined?
Hi Debby...beans aren’t done yet. The one farm I don’t know if he’ll be able to get as it’s still very wet. He’s got both boys out in the field tonight helping. I went out with him last night for a ride and I’ll go one more time when he does corn. I love fall harvest! I’ve heard talk of snow by the end of October which would be a disaster.

Here are my new charges. They are all so beautiful. The little Lutino is a doll and she was an extra. The breeder felt their parents weren't feeding her and her brothers (the two normals) quite well enough so he brought all three. The two white ones are the ones he'd dropped off to me the previous weekend (don't worry - I can't keep it all straight in my head either)! They are so beautiful and docile.

This is my special needs girl who is so gorgeous - I was hanging out with her yesterday and I told her "Stop making me fall in love with you"!

Please excuse my daughters grubby foot!

The older ones are confined to barracks today as two of them yesterday forgot their wings were clipped and have sprained their leg/foot in their attempt to fly! The breeder reassured me they should be fine. So I'll keep them caged (much to their annoyance) for a couple of days so they don't try again and aggevate it further.

But the three younger ones (two of which we are keeping) are having a good time being out without the big kids. They have been having lots of shoulder rides and I had to change my top just before due to the poop down the back, then I thought "I should put a towel round my shoulders" but next thing I had one trying to get back to me, then another followed so that was that! It's the two we are keeping so I'm pleased they are seeking me out.

I hope Syba and you hear nothing but good news, Teila!

Love the eggs Debby, the ones from your hens as well as your candy corn ones!

Anyway, I'd better go eat something because I'll have to feed some littlies soon. :thI haven't even been out to my aviary yet so I think I'd better do that first, if I can get 2 cockatiels off my shoulder!

I just took a photo of my Wellie's last several eggs (included is her 1st egg too, the little one at the top)...see what I mean about them all being different? That big ol' whopper is from today, poor girl.

How do you know they're the same chicken? Do you only have one Wellie? Those are some cool eggs! And that big one must have hurt! Ouch
