The big one in Sonoma, the tubs fire, is 94% contained. Fires are still burning inside the containment. 40 plus dead, over 1 Billion in property damage and the fires were caused by poor Utility maintenance.

Toxic waste crews are going through burned out home sites to make sure it is safe for the owners to check if they can salvage anything--find stuff that might made it through the fire.

It is quite devastating!

We still get a bit but not too much smoke. My Mom is getting more up in Redding--Couple hundred miles north of us.(California is a very long and narrow state). We are hoping the rain helps next week!

Wow, the wind is howling like a banshee and the snow is blowing fast & furious! Bet my chickens are p.o'd. Today's high (which is right now at 9:40 am) is 34* and tonights low is only supposed to be 18*.

Anyone want to take a trip back to FL with me? Like, right now?

Hope the rain comes your way .... we had serious smoke here only a couple of times when the Okefenoke was on fire - folks with respiratory problems could not stand to be outside. The destruction in the California fires is overwhelming.
