The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

That was a good laugh Debby!! Hubby just came in the house with our cute little siamese. Last year he came in with Spuds about the same time of the year and I ended up with 2 cats in my house. I will not have a third. I am going to ask the vet if they do a discount program for neutering strays. He likes Craig’s shop and is litterbox trained but I don’t want any nasty spraying going on.

I forget how tough Spuds looked when we found him.
He looked very young! It is cool how they are born white and develop their color points over time. I have 2 Siamese, little boy is going to get neutered soon.

The white one is my indoor cat. We found him in our grove last fall. He turned into a beauty.

So as of today, all cats are banned from coming into the same room as my computer.

For the past couple of weeks, every time I'd come down here to use my computer, I'd hear this rustling, kind of gnawing sound. If I made any bit of noise, the sound would quit. Had me 1/2 way convinced there was a giant rat somewhere loose in the house (and I despise rodents, ugh!). DH kept reassuring me that with 3 cats in the house, there couldn't be a rat or mouse inside.

I heard the noise again this morning, and just as I shoved my chair back, my stockinged feet bumped against something furry and squishy.

Looking under my desk, there lay Pip calmly chewing on my computer cords. Blasted cat! She could have killed me, I almost had a heart attack. I can see the death certificate now, "death by cat".

LOL omg

My oldest DDs cat chewed cable--head phones and even power cords.

Happily, He now lives in the Bay area!

Naughty kitties all round! I've heard of needing to rabbit proof your home for your indoor rabbit (especially those cords) but I didn't think cats would chew on them!

I got up way too early this morning (our old and naughty cat likes to wake up the kids because she's hungry so I was preventing her doing that). I got worried because my little quail didn't seem to recognise me. It was still dark and I was whispering so I obviously didn't look or sound normal. Once it was actually morning it was back to running towards me excitedly, jumping up and down for me to pick it up. It's so adorable! I set up the incubator for the last few eggs. I'm not convinced two will make it and the third looks a few days away but one has pipped. I just wish it would hatch before I go to bed, but I don't think it will. I've tried holding it near this one when it's been peeping loudly (to encourage it to hurry up and hatch already) but this little chick stops its wailing as soon as it sees me and starts whistling happily like it's having an indepth conversation about something very important. They are serious chatterboxes!

It's very green (the heat lamp has a green bulb in it just to be different) but here's a cute photo of the little chick by it's mirror friend. It wails at night before finally settling down to sleep. I feel awful that it's on its own at night and just wish that egg would hurry up!

J, that's so cute about your little quail with the chattering and wanting to be held. I hope he gets a friend soon, good luck with the hatch.

I got up too early (it was freezing in the bedroom). I'm going to try to go back to catch a few zzz's and come back later.

Later!
