Power back on at about 5:30 last night though I didn't know that until 7. DD2's surgery went well, she is her "usual" self tonight. Did the alternating Tylenol/Advil per the schedule yesterday, nothing today. We didn't bother to fill the Oxycodone prescription. Not sure why he would give her something that heavy duty. Probably doesn't know what her pain tolerance is. She took one Tylenol 3 after her wisdom teeth were pulled, same thing when she fell, shoved the ball of her upper arm bone up into the socket and broke her arm.

Ouch! Glad to hear surgery went well!

I am like that too!

I had spinal surgery and only took Tylenol and an anti inflammatory. I broke my arm in the sixth grade and had no pain pills. Dr. reduced the bone and when I did not scream in pain he was very surprised! That was the first time I was told I had a high pain tolerance.

I set my own toe that had a spiral fracture, did not even scream!

Sure glad it all turned out for her and hope it heals well. I can tolerate a certain level, but past that I become a pill-popper....I'm too old to bite on a leather strap anymore....especially without teeth....:lau

Some people I know ordered theirs Monday, after the wind blew down several trees and a lot of the shingles off their roof. The Tesla Powerwall was already in the plan, just bad timing! Sadly they are pretty expensive but now come in a more useful 14 kWh version (prior were 7 and 10 and Tesla got rid of the 10). I wouldn't mind having one :)

How big was the hawk? We had a Merlin in the barn last summer, I managed to chase it out but it wasn't all that afraid of me. Saw a small hawk out on the birdhouse a couple hundred feet back of the little barn last weekend. Might have been another Merlin. SUPPOSEDLY they won't bother a grown large fowl but come around during migration picking off smaller song birds. No shortage of those around here.

My Japanese speaking (to some extent) daughters say it is pronounced Long O, soft u: Oh-mu. No japanese words end with a solo consonant other than "N".
I'm sure little Omu will be very happy with you if its original owner is not found.

I'm not really sure tbh, I was in an upstairs window. I mean, he looked big and had big wings but it might not have been that big. Probably at least as big as my chickens though.

Hey Bruce, nice to have you back! Glad your power is back and DD2's surgery went well. She sounds like a hardy kid.

@Teila - welcome to the club! One bird does tend to lead to another though!

The service guy came to look at the fridge today - he said it's probably 'something' to do with the gas and he's taken photos to show his boss. And it's the weekend tomorrow so we'll probably be waiting until next week to hear what they are going to do/what they think it wrong. Yay!

The weather is packing up here. It's been a grey but humid day and it's supposed to rain over the weekend. They are saying it will cool off next week which would be nice. I'm a bit sick of grey and humid. They are predicting a wet, humid summer for us. Yay again!

@CntryBoy777 - it's always nice to have a new 'face' join in the conversation. Hope you stick around.

@bruceha2000 - your DD sounds like a tough kid! Our son hates blood - he freaks out if he gets a scrape or scratch! He's pretty tough with bumps and bruises, as long as there's no blood!!!

Well, thanks for the Welcome @ JaeG ....tho, I'm an "Old Hat"...most of my time is spent on BYH, but since the change-over and propects of new birds come Spring I am back here checking things out and "Settlin In" for a spell at least. I figure I might can find a few spots to trail a "Flock" every now and then anyway....too much of me might just spoil my being Welcomed....:lau:ya
