Stupid autocorrect correct did put it at a plunking roll, I caught it and edited, but that made me laugh too.

I've never raised turkeys but years ago had a neighbor that did. One day I felt like eyes were on me and when I looked out the sliding glass door on to the patio, there were 7 poults on the picnic table looking into the house. Funny little things :lol:

If we ever get some property with room, I'd like to try raising a few. What is it about them that drives you crazy?

Its that noisy behavior. I'm very private and turkeys are like those loud people at the party. They will follow you everywhere, they love construction sounds, and generally they are in your face acting like goofs. They are extremely obnoxious as young ones under a year, chasing my chickens and dogs, and flying up everywhere. After they mature I like them better.

They are definitely a different type of bird who will want to be your best friend. If people knew what turkeys were like they probably wouldn't be so eager to eat so many, though some deserve it. Some are punks.

Some are nice like my big blue Tom, and my older hens.



This my special boy. I have a love hate relationship with my turkeys.

My Tom is a blue slate, but apparently it's not common for them to be so dark, so he's extra special. He's 7 years old.

You cannot get any words in while you are next to the turkey pen. They loudly talk over you, peep, peep, peep, gobble, gobble, gobble, and won't shut up. They are a rancorous bunch.
 
My chickens drive me batty sometimes! Start talking up a storm as soon you go outside lol some of them are louder than others though. Especially my Australorps and my one Easter Egger. :rolleyes:

And it sounds weird but I think I would like turkeys. Or at least just a few. I am a quiet person too and prefer being by myself but with animals, I love them and love friendly animals so I think having a turkey that wanted to be friends, I would love it. My chickens don't really want to be friends hah but then again I don't spend that much time with them anymore. Although of course once I got a turkey, I might change my mind lol

We get a lot of wild turkeys and they are a little annoying sometimes, like they get pretty close to my chickens and they were flying up onto the roof of the new coop and even on top of their current chain link pen but I also even managed to befriend them haha
