The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Shavings don't really usually bother me, I use pine in the chicken coop and have used aspen before, but I think maybe in a smaller area, like inside the house, it might be an issue? I forgot they dig a lot. I mean, I knew, but kinda forget. Makes sense they'd produce dust. Maybe if I provide them with tunnels, like cardboard or PVC they might not as much? I've been stock piling cardboard haha

That's a good idea to sniff them though but then again I might not have a problem for just a few minutes as I might with them being in my room.

And hmm that's good to know they take them back but yeah, I think if I had to get rid of them I would just want all their supplies to go with them so I'd probably just sell them or give them away.

And thanks! I'll look for males!

Are your bunnies outdoor?
Yes they are. I have 2 fenced areas where they are in individual cages or hutches. They get let out daily to run. One at a time of course. I find rabbits, especially the males to be peeing stinkers, they would be nice neutered. The females can be moody. They are all adorable until sexual maturity, than they turn into filthy animals. My older buck is finally calming down, I haven't been peed on in about 2 months. He is cute otherwise.

Mine aren't dusty unless they are digging in the gravel.

This is one of my rabbit areas, it has 4 of those hutches in

1. He does this to me every year, waits until about a week before the holiday then tells me what he really, really, really wants.
2. No postal delivery to the golf course, all that mail goes to a PO box too.
3. I'll have to call my cousin to see if I can use her address in Laramie. Of course, if it can be delivered there, he'll have to drive an hour & a half to pick it up after Christmas because it's too late to get it delivered in time for the holiday anywhere.

I need some eggnog, some nice rummy eggnog :tongue Or some Tylenol.
I think what he really wants is to see if you can pull off the impossible.

He can get a late Xmas present since he is the one who waited too long to tell you what he wants. The shipper won't send it to a PO box but your cousin can ... as long as it is under 70 pounds and the length+girth dimensions of the box don't exceed 130".

Oh and this is the bedding I got. I have a bunch of supplies i got a few months ago and never got them

They also have white and mixed brown and white but i just got brown. Figured i want as natural as possible and not bleached, though idk if that's how they whiten it.

I personally would give gerbils a try and see if they bother you. In general gerbils are diggers and will move the bedding around the tank.

Mine would just eat the exercise wheel. I keep their bedding deep. They cover their food and sand container where they do their business, yes gerbils are litter box trained in a way. A dish of sand will be used as a toilet. I use playground sand, and dump daily.

If you vacuum their top on a regular basis the dust doesn't get too far.

I had a hamster that would pee in a bottle!

Wow those are really nice areas!

It's so hard to find someone to neuter a rabbit but maybe with a bigger rabbit it would be easier? Or maybe rabbits aren't hard? I know rats and mice are nearly impossible but people do it lol

Thanks, I think I will! I mean, I already have all the stuff.

And wow if they are litter trained then maybe they wouldn't be so bad! It's the cleaning that's always the worst and most annoying hah still have to do that of course but maybe less often

And thanks, that's a good idea

Awesome!

They have neutered rabbits up for adoption at the humane society a lot for like $20 in FL.
