The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Happy Boxing Day Friends :hugs

Loved every minute of 'IT'! N F C Thank you for the link. I did post early in the piece and have been lurking ;)

We had a lovely dinner and evening. Our neighbour, who is French, is a really nice guy and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting to him and adore his accent, I could listen to him all day. Hubby did an awesome job on the turkey, crisp on the outside but still nice and juicy; delicious :drool

Hubby loves Boxing Day more than Christmas Day .. the Boxing Day Test [cricket] starts today, Australia V England so he is glued to the radio.

I am having a relaxing day today also, going to give the girls the rest of their vol-au-vents, water the lawn and not much else :p Leftover turkey, ham, salad, cherry pie and trifle on the menu today so no cooking.

It is Christmas evening for most of you? I hope so very much that you all had a wonderful day :hugs
Yes, Christmas Night. We had a great day and i am going to have to wait until later for dessert.
I got the water heaters set up for the chickens because it will be a cold night.

Ditto! :hugs

Well, there you go, I did not know that you were not familiar with Boxing Day. I believe it originated in the UK  It is a public holiday here in Aus and also a big shopping day, Boxing Day sales.

I bought myself two tops and two pairs of shorts on line [70% off] but that is it for me.
Traditionally it was a day that employers gave gifts to employees. I learned about it while living in Canada.

Merry Christmas, hope everyone had a great day.

Guess what I got for Christmas this morning? I got a photo!! Yep, I did, and I love it! Our great-grandkids, Madelyn (2) and Landyn (4), love to talk to us on the phone. Jamie has shown them snapshots of us, and they know WHO we are, but they don't KNOW us. So in their Christmas box this year I sent a big picture of Ken and one of me, just for them, so they'd be better able to put faces to our voices and names. Well, this morning posted on my Facebook wall was this picture of them holding their pictures of us, and a wonderful "Merry Christmas". Best Christmas gift EVER!!!

:love such cuties.

I keep forgetting that in Australia it is early summer and while it's a toasty -7.2 C here in frozen Missouri, it's a lot warmer there. Lucky you @Teilia. You talked about buying shorts and I thought....now that is just plain mean. I'm sitting here in front of a blazing fireplace trying to get my damp feet dry after braving frigid temps to hump warm water out for my poor birds and .....oops, she's an Aussie...tee hee..Never mind,it's summer there! :plbb

I always thought that Boxing Day was the day after Christmas where bosses and employees traded jobs for the day.

I kept trying to get my husband (we worked together) to do that and do my job for the day but I could never get him to do it. He said my job was too hard. :lau

Yep, the sun is shining, 84F at the moment and I am just about to start watering the lawn :p It is a battle to keep the lawn green, especially the bits that do not get shade ....

Back in the day... I was happy to let anyone on the program take a day in the life. Those who tried all came to the same conclusion. I was under paid. But what I will say is they became my best advocates.

I know you love dogs - would you mind looking at this post #1 ?

A member is having concerns about below freezing temps and his labrador is in labor.

84F. Now THAT is mean.:gig:hit

Hey @CapricornFarm. How did you GingerCoop do in the competition? And how are your water warmers working?

I was looking at the forecast for here through New Years and it's just plain crappy. Highs of 11F and lows below zero. I'm going to switch my one working heated water dish in the large main coop where temps are hovering around 30-32 since the others aren't wanting to come outside right now....can't say I blame them.

I don't like clowns either, there's something just wrong (and scary) about a grown up painting their faces that way!

That's sounds interesting Bob (the American Cheese)!

Love the photo Nicky!

CHEESE! Any kind of cheese is my favorite!

Merry Christmas Sour!

Blooie, Merry Christmas to you & yours. So nice to have you back where you belong!

Merry Christmas J, hope you, your family and your tiny birds are having a great day!

Nice!

Love the picture B!
Agree on the clown thing...they creep me out!
Oh besides 2 new saws i got a metal detector for Christmas! Now i can find buried treasure!:lau
Good luck!
