I actually won my hundred on wheel of fortune!

Boy, things have really changed. I spent six weeks in Vegas, when slot machines still had gears. And we were staying in a casino... So every night I took $3.50 down, ran a roll of nickles through the slots and either had steak or breakfast for dinner depending on the slots.

Had one lucky night and decided that was enough gambling for me... Although I did have a great time in Vegas, my total expenditure was $66 of out of pocket money for the entire six weeks. Hotel was provided so that didn't play into cost.

For the last 13 years, been in ACY at least one week a month and never had a need to visit the casino's except when DD was visiting. These days I view them as paid entertainment and don't expect to win anything.

ETA: Breakfast was $0.49 back then.

Good Morning Friends :hugs

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CC! :ya :wee :celebrate

A very pleasant 34 helpdesk tickets yesterday! :caf

:woot That's great news and good morning to you:woot

@rjohns39 , you are 'dating' yourself. :lau Heck, you might be older than me.
Nope, I'm a spring chicken:old:jumpy:celebrate

The kids got DW a record player for Christmas, Grandson wanted to know what a record was and how one would possibly get music off of vinyl... DW was unpacking one of the old boxes and pulled out a box of VHS tapes, GS was equally as confused.:th

ETA: I was stunned when I went to the Casino in ACY and they were all digital and many wouldn't accept money... Credit card only:barnie

Wow that's amazing!!

Sadly they really have changed!

Now they have all the fancy digital machines. Probably cost more to make too?

But personally I think they are also easier to program to lose... lol

They have fancy algorithms. Can't exactly program a mechanical machine.

That said, I did win a lot but now the fancy flashing machines are so fun and addictive it's harder to walk away than old "boring" machines.

Especially cause most also now have all the progressive games, like free games, 2x, spin wheels where you win more, etc. etc. instead of just the old fashioned spinning rolls/lines so you wanna keep playing to hopefully get the free stuff and win big. Not so much me but i can see it. They're like video games now

The machine i waited so long for? I quit when i realized it was a stupid waste of money and not that fun. It was like an 80 cent minimum and stupid.

But some people were literally there for hours so i thought it was fun.

It was alright.

I bet some of those people wasted soooo much money

Daughter got the Princess a record player for Christmas. Now to locate some of the old records.
Well, I think the kids motivation was when DW unpacked a box of LPs and 45s. She was talking about selling them since we didn't have anything to play them on. Cat destroyed my stereo many years ago when she got into a spraying spree. The only thing I saved were my advent speakers, which were too high for her to reach.

My brother loves roulette and is usually pretty lucky. Except last night and a little today he was kind of stupid cause he got up really high then kept playing and lost it all

That's actually not that much sadly. $5 gets you practically nowhere these days and the machines don't even accept $1's :(

Plus I won $101 so I was up like $85.

A lot of the machines now are 50 cent or $1 minimums but then they do still have a lot of 25 cent ones and 1 cent but even on some of the 1 cents the minimum bet is like 60 cents which I think is kind of deceiving....

But yeah.

Sadly, $5 in todays casino is nothing unless you're REALLY lucky.

That said, I put a $10 in one machine and got up to $55. I got down to $50 then cashed out.

I'm pretty lucky and usually don't play much and win a lot. And cash out when I win. This time though while I did cash out on big wins, I also spent a lot.

I think I ended up winning like $150 but spent some so now I'm probably at $120. I shouldn't have played today. We did the stores and i went to two machines after. I actually did break even and normally would have cashed out but then i kept playing and lost it.

I think I still have a $60 voucher somewhere I thought. But maybe i cashed it

Wow impressive!

Sadly I don't think that would happen now!

Most machines don't accept ones, at least at this casino, which admittedly is quite a large one, and I'm sure they rig it so you LOSE.

That's good!

Yeah, addiction can be scary. I think my mother is obe of those addicted to gambling, including lottery tickets. We don't go to casinos that much but she buys tons of lottery tickets.

:lau

Nope! Well, we did eat there. But we also gambled haha

It was my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, and myself. We stayed overnight but they stayed in the hotel right in the place and we stayed at one like 5 minutes away and took the shuttle.

But this place is also huge so lots of restaurants and stores!

We went to the casino part yesterday and stayed a while and then did the shops today. And just a little bit of the casino. And last night we went to this good restaurant but I couldn't eat mine cause I was sick :( I think it was all the smoke in the casino plus all the walking and casinos are also stuffy and hot. That or it was food poisoning from the gas station sandwich i had before we went in haha then today we had johnny rockets but it was sooo crowded
I am sorry that you got sick and could not enjoy the food!

Wow that is bad! Makes sense though, they don't have that stuff now.

I did, at least VHS, so I know what it all is. But also i what vinyls are because believe it or not they're making a huge comeback haha

They're really popular with the smaller/indie/local/DIY bands and even slightly bigger like nationally touring or on small labels or whatever. And I listen to a lot of pop punk and stuff. But even big ones like Taylor Swift are doing it now

Thankfully ours aren't credit only but most dont accept ones.
