By Cracky, it took a lot of digginng, but I found one! Cecil with the puppy who was his best friend from day one! Quality of the picture isn't good, it's 25 years old, after all, but I think you can see him. That tall grass in the far background was full of pheasants, and that's where Ken and Cecil would go hunting.

Yep. Had him and three Pygmies - Sweetie, Hades and Moses. Oh, and we also had 3 sheep - Aggie, Chloe, and the ram was Dodge. We also had a turkey named Francois and a duck named Sport. And 4 dogs - AKC SKC Ch. Rueben James Cd, Rosie, Thorny, and Tilly. The dogs came with us from way before. Once Kenny took a shot at a pheasant, and only clipped him - took his tail feathers right off. For the entire time we lived there would see him first thing in the morning patrolling along the creek bank, down to the shelter belt, and into the tall grass. Then in the evening he made the circuit in reverse. Kenny named him Haggar the Horrible. He never did grow tail feathers.
 
Nubian is my favorite breed, had a big beautiful boy once too. What breed of dogs? Poor pheasant probably lost his butt nub.
