Hope your Dad is ok. And your Aunt recovers quickly. That has got to hurt! Hugs to you.
Yes, your poor Aunt, and Dad! I saw people evacuating because of the predicted super high tide (it looked like terrible flooding even before that) and all the downed power lines. Scary stuff indeed!
Thank you both! I will pass the message along.
And yeah, there's some very bad flooding in some areas! And lines down, though I haven't personally seen any. A lot of areas have or had big trees across the roads too!
Apparently the fire department has said it might be a few days or a week without power! I am hoping it's not that long.
My friend lives in an apartment complex across the street and I guess they said it would be back on at 1:30 today. I'm not sure I believe that though. Apparently they originally said Monday but she called. So now she's not sure when it will be back on. And that complex has lots of little kids. I guess the transformer literally exploded last night and they don't have generators over there.
I am trying to study while it's still daylight in case the generator runs out. But of course I am being distracted by my phone haha
I hope we get power soon! But like 95% or 97% of the town is without power right now and they only have so many workers. Plus all the other towns that are also out and have the same electric company.
This is an elderly neighbors tree. You can't really see cause it's a slight hill but it's a big pine and there are also other little branches/trees. It came close to hitting their house.
Sorry it's not zoomed in either, I just snapped it at an intersection
And the FD page has more pictures and videos now of the severe flooding and the trees in roads etc. They also have a horse rescue video and pictures!! A shed collapsed on the poor horse! He's fine now though
