The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

They probably don't want big rigs flipping over!

maybe but we dont have big rigs here, small town haha

I think it's because of all the downed trees here so the crews can clean them up without people being in the way plus all the flooding so they don't have to rescue idiots haha

I checked the state website and there are no active alerts or anything so I think actually that the state itself is not in a state of emergency and no travel ban but rather just my town and probably other surrounding ones. So idk if it is official or technically what it's called but they are calling it that. Here the governor has to declare a state of emergency which he hasn't done yet.

And I looked it up and it's over 400K or 425K (depending on the article) without power in all of MA right now. That was 2 hours ago. oddly, only 80,000 5 hours ago.

almost 7000 just in my town.

Afternoon Folks!

 Cap! I so hope nothing gets damaged!

Kelsey I hope you get power back soon!

STAY SAFE! :hugs

Sorry in advance for all the images but just sharing what I got up to today ………

While we were in town, I picked up a new, different coloured grass for the bird bath area:

This Elephant Ear had a pup, so potted that. I got quite a good deal of the root system so fingers crossed it survives:

The Sun Bird Nest on a hanging piece of string is coming along nicely; the Sun Birds are still playing hard to get on camera though:

It never pays to live too close to a body of water where storms are concerned! Stay safe KD!

thats very true! my town is somewhat coastal as seen in some of the pics, we have a beach and harbor and marshes and stuff but nowhere as coastal as other areas and we dont have many homes right on the sea wall and beach like those other towns. the ones that are, are further up the river and marsh so more protected. the problem with a lot of the homes in the other towns is they just face directly onto the open ocean! and are right on a sea wall or beach. dangerous combo!

then of course our house is further inland
