The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

My DW says there is a group of boys at the school that have gotten away with lots of things like this. The School has not seemed interested on proper consequences and or the ring leader is a bit of a Sociopath\psychopath. Schools are ill prepared for dealing with this type of mental issues.

Hopefully this will break up the ring!
I would HOPE that with all the actual and "near miss" (we had one in Vermont last week) shootings schools would take such BS REALLY seriously. Those boys need a good 100 hours of community service. And some psychological counseling.

Good Afternoon Friends :hugs

Welcome back to work Teila! 65 HD’s and still an hour and a half to go before I knock off, these do not include those which were merged as the same issue [104 e.mails]; Yes, we had a release on the weekend :p Only broke three things this fortnight :bow [sarcasm intended].

I have 1 point something chickens but because they are bantams, I probably have minus something chickens; must get me some! :lau

Kelsey awesome news that your power is back on and yes, wonderful that you were able to help out your friend.

Thank you!

Morning all

I really like this chicken math stuff...

Getting an incubator going later this week (don't know if I can wait for Saturday for the HAL). I'm getting too excited/impatient!

I am hoping to get an incubator for my birthday or for graduation.

And according to that chicken math I only have 3 chickens... plenty of room for more. :lau

School was almost cancelled for my DW's school. There was a prank school shooting tip sent in my a student. The Student is now in custody.

Seriously? Who jokes about stuff like that?!

I wish all that would quit! I’m glad it was just a prank and not the real thing.

Agreed Bruce!

How horrible.

With all the real school shootings, those students should know better than to joke about that stuff amd the school should know better than to ignore it! Even if it WAS "just a joke", it's not a funny one and those kids should be forced into counseling or something just in case.

We had school cancelled today but not for anything like that thankfully, they are still recovering from the power outages. Although I'm sure they have power so I don't get it. But idk.

Today we had a little bit more wind and some snow. All melted now though

Sadly it sounds like this one will not be taken seriously either. The Police said they are working with the school district to come up with suitable discipline...What a joke! The kid should be expelled and sent to a continuation school along with some type of legal action.

This is not much of a deterrent to future behavior by this Guy or others

Not good! He should at least be expelled!!

Wow that's unfortunate. :/

And idk, it's a fine line because the parents could probably sue and go oh my precious little baby didn't do anything wrong (or maybe they don't care which could be part of the problem to begin with) and/or being sent away or isolated or whatever might just enhance whatever negative feelings or ideas he has now but at the same time, he definitely needs something. Maybe suspended and required therapy? Or time in a mental institution ha that might not help either.

I do wonder though if these kids actually feel that way, like would they actually do something, or are they just some punk kids who think it's funny and/or have no discipline or whatever? Either way they need some help. Required therapy or maybe even boot camp or something ha

They could be doing it for attention too, sadly. Finding out what their family situation is like might be important too.

Sorry for rambling on like that and/or probably sounding like I'm defending him, I just always find this stuff interesting and/or like finding the reasons behind stuff, I guess the psychology major is showing haha (technically I'm in behavioral science but still).

Yeah or at least more discipline than he'll likely get.

It'll probably be "just dont do it again, okay?" And MAYBE a detention.

:barnie

We had a similar situation last week in a Lovell. The kids who spotted the threat on social media immediately notified the school resource officer, who notified the police, who investigated, hauled the two juvenile offenders straight into juvenile detention and they’ll stay there.

Wow that's great they not only caught them but also actually charged them!

Maybe juvie would straighten this kid out.

Or even just the threat of it or at least a fine or something more serious instead of just whatever they will likely do
