I always had stark straight, dark hair. My mom and aunt tried perming it several times lasted about a week. I started getting gray hairs after high school and used to pull them out with a tweezer. That only lasted a couple of years because I noticed I was pulling out so many hairs I was getting bald spots.

Then I talked myself into believing I was beautiful with any color hair. Stop laughing.!!!

Eventually I was mostly gray, not the yellowy kind, or the blue kind like the real old old ladies that had it done at the salon but pure silvery and white hairs. They just glowed in the sun so I made peace with it and accepted them fully.

Actually I love the color now. Funny thing though when it started switching to gray the hair started curling and getting waves in it. What a neat surprise. That didn't last long

I found my first grey hair when I was 17.
You're right about the nice & shiny. I've actually had people ask me what the name of the colour that I use, or what salon I go to to get it coloured.
 
I love my silvery hair too! I've had people tell me that they wouldn't mind leaving their gray hair un-colored and going natural if it looked like mine. I got on a kick several years ago where I panicked about getting older, and older looking! Ken was moving up in the line and we had to go to so many events where the ladies were all in their formals and all glizted up and I felt like Freida Frump.

So I went to the salon and said, "Dark. With highlights." I did like it, but I felt like a quilt block at times.....you know, good color, and light/dark values - with a 1/4 inch gray seam allowance at the scalp. All the time. I think about the worst time in this color/no, stop coloring merry-go-round is that stage of growing it back out naturally until it's long enough to cut all the colored part off.

I just feel like I always go off on these long ADD tangents.

The dog one was my most random and ADD one to date... dogs from hair color. But also from dog coat color to "aggressive" dogs to field dogs (i guess all of that is still color related but hold on..) to.... at the slightest mention of field Golden oh I'd love one and giant list of requirements for a future dog. :lau

That post, even though that part was technically all about dogs, changed subject like 5 times :lau
