The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Awww thank you both! :)

I just feel like I always go off on these long ADD tangents.

The dog one was my most random and ADD one to date... dogs from hair color. But also from dog coat color to "aggressive" dogs to field dogs (i guess all of that is still color related but hold on..) to.... at the slightest mention of field Golden oh I'd love one and giant list of requirements for a future dog. :lau

That post, even though that part was technically all about dogs, changed subject like 5 times :lau

Sorry Blooie! I read your stories. :hugs

Better written at least!

Blooies that is.

Faaaaaarrrrrrrr better written.

Probably cause mine aren't proof read and are honestly mostly just stream of consciousness and wherever my very ADD mind takes me..... :lau

I also feel like I keep trying to make dog conversation happen, not even on purposw but ya, sorry lmao

I love Golden Retrievers so I do hope you get one. My niece would desperately love one but a dog in that family would not be a happy dog. :hmm My Mum is hoping one day to get one for her benefit. They are a bit calmer than labradors aren't they? Although we know two black labs that are so sweet and calm (unlike our fruit loop of a dog). I'd love to know what's in her to make her so exciteable - we know there's chocolate lab but as to the rest .

Thanks! I don't think one would be happy here either with all the bickering/occasional yelling plus with Gators health issues so I gotta move out. Goldens are sensitive dogs right?

And yeah, I heard they are a little bit calmer and more trainable. Less GAHHHH CRAZY GOOFY SILLY all the time and more serious???

But idk.

I do love Labs though.

Also it depends on type.

The stocky English or show/conformation Labs are shorter, stockeier, with the otter tail and block heads and more of a true Lab to me. And those are calmer and much better imo.

The American or field bred ones are taller, lankier, more skinny, triangle/pointy and imo ugly heads, etc. And they are usually crazy hyper, energetic, and more trouble haha

But that said, English Labs can still have energy and need exercise and training of course but the American are just..... slightly neurotic LOL

Idk what type you have over there. It might be completely different than here.

I do love Labs though. They are so friendly and cute and good with everyone. And less upkeep on the coat. Goldens have the longer coat and sometimes ear problems.

But I think Goldens are a little bit "softer" dog.

I would loveeeee a Golden once I move out. Or set up a separate place to stay hah

The big yard here would be perfect for one so idk

Good Morning Friends :hugs

It is official, we are now cut off from town which is 'going under' due to the Herbert River Flooding. Hubby tried to get in to work but ended up having to come back home.

Yikes! I heard on the new there'd been flooding, but didn't realise it was so close to you. Does this happen often? Or is it all part of the crazy weather that seems to be happening everywhere? Stay safe!

Hey Ron, thank you, we are safe here at present and the house is high set.

Jae it does not happen often, I think the last major flood was 2009.

Yes, Ingham is our 'town' where we get most of our supplies [15 mins down the road]. We do have a small shop here at the village and also a pub / bottle shop so we will be OK for a while :p
