You sound like meI'm very lucky that we don't have that kind of thing here. If you want chicks you have to go to a breeder, or hatch your own. You are a much stronger woman that I would be in that situation!
There are a few grey (well, white) strands there but that's fine by me. I'm not sure I can be bothered trying to dye it (never having dyed my hair ever). I'm not one for putting on make-up (other than mascara - don't leave the house without that on)! But anything more than that is too much effort. I've got better things to be doing (like racing round trying to feed and water all the birds).![]()

I'm not really so much unhappy, I'm pretty happy usually actually, but it's more just for health reasons.
And thankfully it's not really in my upper half, only really my stomach, so it doesn't really show usually unless I wear certain clothes.
I am technically overweight though. I'm not saying that cause I'm unhappy or to negate the compliment or anything, cause I do appreciate it, just simple fact haha
I used to be around 165 for forever and was actually like 145 for a brief stint my first or second year of college but that was too skinny, it just kind of happened though cause I walked everywhere, campus was small enough, so yeah. But anyway, now I'm hovering around 200. Well, actually according to the scale 198.8 lbs. Just checked, I normally never do so I'm not obsessive about it or anything but was curious. I lost some weight in New York from all the walking haha
Now, I know I'm not obese or anything like that but I definitely feel it and am a lot unhealthier and out of shape than I was. I also eat hooooorribly and don't exercise like ever. So I do feel it ha
I gained it all the last like 2 1/2 years. Kept going up and up and up. Lol
But now I've mostly accepted it as the new norm or whatever.
But I do want to lose weight just for health reasons. And/or at least start eating better.
I don't mind being slightly bigger so I'm not talking like a diet or 5 million hours of exercise or anything super crazy. Just maybe eating better and walking? Idk if that would do it.
But I wanna improve my lungs too cause I've always had asthma but usually only when I got sick but now I get winded doing simple stuff.
But I'm sorry for the big long post and/or if it seems like I don't appreciate it or amything lol cause I do appreciate the compliment! Thank you!
But I'm at least out of shape haha
Aw you look nice!
Assuming Big R is a feed store? We have a Big Y here but it is a grocery store. So at first I was like the grocery store carries chicks?
I wonder if Tractor Supply or Morrison's/Agway have chicks in yet. I should check! Although that could be dangerous haha
Thankfully though Tractor Supply has a minimum of 6 chicks and I don't need or have room for that many, let alone of a lesser quality, so that's what usually stops me.
Now Morrison's on the other hand only has a minimum of 3. BUT they have to be from the same ship date. And they get different breeds in at different times. Sometimes only one breed and sometimes a few but none I want or only one I want and the others are on another ship date etc. And I don't need 3 of one breed either. I do wonder if they might make an exception for me though since we know the manager but probably not because it's probably just policy and they can't really break it plus it's probably more for the safety of the chicks so they aren't all alone for a week or few weeks while more come in. That said, I think once they are in the store, if there are any left over you can get any ones you want so I might see if they have left over ones one week. They normally don't though. But the ship date thing applies to if you order chicks from them.
But I don't need more chicks.
I might get quail though or if I move into a tiny house in the woods I might get more chickens in a separate coop. But that probably won't happen.
Aw that stinks.
I have so many gray hairs haha
Aw that's awesome!
Aw how cute!
And I am brown hair as are my brothers. Although they used to be blonde as little kids and still get lighter in the summer. My dad I think is black and my mom is blonde.
I also have my dad's curls and height.
My brothers are more like my mom.
That stinks
I've never worn makeup. I don't really have an allergy but I find it's annoying/uncomfortable to put on (my friends have before lol mostly eye pencil thing and some other stuff) and it also gives me a headache I think? Or dries my eyes and face out.
I have occasionally worn mascara but haven't in forever.
People are so mean.
I'm partial to brown hair, I guess cause I have brown hair? And it seems most of my friends in bands have brown or black hair hah sometimes blonde or dyed colors.
But I do like red hair too.
Although oddly in Golden Retrievers I don't really like the super red ones. I guess cause they look more like an Irish Setter or something to me? I don't really like the super super light ones either or the white ones but I like more of like a middle/medium light golden color? Idk how to explain.
That's just that particular breed though.
I do like red hair too.
I think though I also have this idea that the red ones are more aggressive? Seems that idea is popular in any breed. For example, Cocker Spaniels, Irish Setters, Golden Retrievers, Australian Cattle Dogs, even the Chocolate Labrador Retrievers or Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. The Chessie thing might just be us though, I once knew a crazy one haha
With the ACDs people seem to think the red ones have more dingo in them?
Idk.
I do wonder if any of that is true though.
And I know for example, field Goldens tend to be more red and more energetic/high strung.
I do want a field one eventually though. They're a little bit higher drive so possibly could do tricks or obedience better? Or for longer. But also could maybe run and do sports and biking and stuff for longer.
Although I'm sure the regular ones could too if I found the right breeder.
But I also don't really want a crazy high energy one.
I am lazy.
Although it might be good to have a more active dog that needs the exercise and training/mental stimulation.
And when I'm around a more energetic dog, I love it and interact with them. For example, with Libby I love playing with her and training her because she loves it and is always wanting to do that.
Gator loves sleeping lol
He does like his walks though and sometimes training with the right motivation.
Anyway, I'm sure the show ones can be trained too?
All I really want is a dog that I can train obedience and tricks; is smart enough and eager enough to please that it can learn fairly quickly and is eager to perform (though a lot of that can be accomplished with positive reinforcement and/or building drive but some dogs just don't love it, like Gator); can walk, hike, or bike etc.; POSSIBLY do a sport like dock diving, agility, or flyball, or maybe obedience or rally, but probably not, depends if I feel like training it haha; but is calm enough to not go crazy inside and to be able to settle in the house; and good with all people and other animals so that I can take it everywhere with me, although I know most of that is training and socialization; and is not too big so I can control it and, again, take it places. And calm enough to pass the CGC and even more advanced levels. Oh and maybe a therapy dog but idk. And maybe teach a few service dog tasks just for fun though I do not need a service dog and wouldn't claim it was one just to take it to places dogs aren't allowed cause I know fake SDs are a hugeeee problem and it's not fair. But just simple stuff like picking up items or closing and opening doors or something, idk. Maybe DPT (deep pressure therapy) for anxiety or OCD alerting for when I'm at home but I wouldn't claim it as one.
Aaaaaaandddddd.... that's really it.
But wow, that actually turned into a HUGE list. Oops.
But do you think a Golden or Lab would work? I heard Goldens are slightly more trainable?
Or any other breed recommendation besides those?
But sorry to go off on a hugeeeeee dog tangent. I don't even know how I started on that.....
Hair color??
I'm so ADD sometimes.
Aw cool
Scary!Good Morning Friends
It is official, we are now cut off from town which is 'going under' due to the Herbert River Flooding. Hubby tried to get in to work but ended up having to come back home.

Blizzards, power outages, floods - and Kendra in the ER getting stitches in her chin.
Who says kids with mobility issues can’t find “normal” ways to get hurt? One minute she was fine, the next minute she was screaming and pouring blood. I don’t mean a steady drip, or a fast drip - it was a stream going from her chin to Kenny’s shoulder when he scooped her up. The “normal” part is we were standing 20 feet away from her and out of the three of us, not ONE saw just what happened. Yep. Normal.
