DW said it only took her 15 years to train me....
They are awesome! These days I read more than I post as I work too much. Trying to get better but so tired when I get home and so little time in the am.
Being able to write brown horse and her name isn't a fail, some time ago that would have been a miracle. Hang in there Grandma B, she'll do it when she's good and ready

Blooie, not that I don't like coffee, but tea is easier in the am for me... So I've pretty much gone to coffee only on Sundays. For me I'm pretty much Ice tea (unsweetened), Coffee when fresh and easy, the occasional margarita and a bit of Canadian whiskey. I don't pollute my coffee, tea or whiskey, unless one considers ice a pollutant.

That girl isn't selling out for a cookie!! You are going to have to do better if you want her to change her priorities.

I did take DWs summer tires to the mechanic at 9 AM to have them replaced with new ones. Had to go back at 3 PM to pick them up. Wore me right out.And *I* know where YOU live!!

I know; I remembered about Katie. Just commiserating. They do what they do because it makes sense to them; if it pleases you, great, but that's no incentive. If they want to work with you, they will, but if they don't want to, nothing in Heaven or Earth will get them moving before they decide they are ready.

You haven't been doing this long, have you?!Baby rabbits do it all the time - I had a friend who said she could sex 'em that way (if the pee just dribbles down the tail, it's a doe, if it squirts you in the eye, it's a buck!). They usually get over it about the time their eyes open; it's one of the reasons that I don't usually let people hold them when they are that young.
Bucks spraying is a different matter. Some aren't bad, with others, it's like a hobby. I had a Jersey Wooly (small, long-haired breed) that I had to make sure that everything that I put on the grooming table before him was a buck, because if he smelled doe-smell, he would write "Ziggie was here" across my shirt!(No putting a lid on that!!)
A friend took Ziggie's son Wizard to his first show for me. I've learned that tattoos that make a word are easier for a judge to read, so this rabbit's tattoo was the first part of his name, WIZ. Well, that silly boy got so excited, he sprayed the judge! The judge took it in stride; as he went on with his examination and looked in the ear for the tattoo, he laughed. "I should have looked here first! It's not like I wasn't warned," he said.

Oh I know. I didn’t word that very well, did I? I am tickled with every bit of progress she makes, always. The “fail” part was on me - I didn’t follow my plan so she stayed in her own zone. I didn’t get across to her that if she wanted the cookie, I wanted her to write it first. She simply decided the cookie wasn’t worth it. I need to go back to the drawing board - she’s drawing just fine.
You'll get there! I say you're doing great though and she seems to have come a long way.

Sounds exactly like my dog.
Has to think about everything and if he doesn't want to, he won't do it. Has to be something in it for him. Thankfully, the Lab half makes that something usually food LOL but not all food appeals to him and even that sometimes won't win him over. It has to be good enough. Play works sometimes too but he also only wants to play on his schedule. The Pyrenees half makes him just independent enough yet intelligent enough (sooo smart) to have to think it over. Come? Ehhh, why should I. Though usually he's very good now and comes. But some days nothing will move him. And getting him to come from one room to another so you can shut the door or getting him across the room to pet him can be a challenge. He will stand there and think about it forever then MAYBE come. Or lie down. Or often he does this thing where he won't come when you say so but then you shut the door and are like alright see ya and seconds or minutes later he wants to come in lol this happens all the time when he gets locked in the porch room. When it is your idea, he won't do it, but when it is his idea, suddenly he will.
Obviously kids and dogs are very different and I don't mean to minimize anything and certainly not comparing them but just the way that you described and worded that is EXACTLY my dog lol
And no amount of force or coercing or even food will move him or get him to do as you want if he doesn't want to do it.
In fact, I've learned trying to force it just makes him NOT want to do whatever it is you want even more. You have to negotiate. Lol
Again, sorry, I know kids and dogs are extremely different but I swear mine has a personality and probably the intelligence of a small child/toddler

English breakfast is just plain black tea. Tea is shaken through various sized screens. English breakfast is the full leaf that doesn't make it through the 1st screen. At the bottom of the screens there's dust. That dust is orange pekoe.
Earl grey is black tea with bergamot (usually added as an essential oil).
Did you know that black tea, green tea and white tea are the same tea leaves? Black tea leaves are crushed/crunched when the leaves are picked. This releases the oils from the leaves and increases the fermentation. Green tea leaves are only slightly bruised, so less oil is released and it therefore doesn't ferment as much. White tea leaves are left alone so little or no oil is released.
Can you tell that I was my district's tea expert when I worked at Starbucks?
