The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Planning to move the run today and dispose of the old coop since the muscle is here and the dumpster is still here from the house work. Muscle being my brother haha he doesn't come home that often but he is home so with both of them (my other brother lives 2 miles down the street) we should be able to move it. And then of course toss old coop in dumpster since it is gross and falling apart and we don't wanna put it in the car haha

I'm glad to FINALLY be able to get them moved into the new coop. They will be so happy. We do plan to expand the run eventually too but for now it will be fine, especially with the big new coop. Plus it will seem way bigger to them anyway because it won't have a coop directly in the middle so it will be the full 6x12 kennel AND it is fresh new ground to check out and scratch around in. I guess we will either free range them while we move it or possibly lock them in the new coop. It will be kind of a pain to move as it has sat there over two years and is pretty buried in. I am off to get shavings now.

Lol.
We had a tarp across the top of the run that couldn't support the weight of the melting snow. I'll be installing a solid roof over a portion of the run this summer.
I think there was a picture of the run knocked down by the snow. I don't have a problem with snow here but do know it can be a problem

A little snow is no problem here. Slides right off.

Sounds like a busy day! I have been working on the setup for a gable fan replacement. I cut a piece of plywood from the old counter and then used a jig saw to cut a circle for the fan shroud. The fan did not come with screws for the wood part so I need to go to Home Depot and get some for that.

While at Home Depot, I will also pick up the new Pellet BBQ! If all goes well, I will be BBQing a pizza in it tonight!

Yes! I have a pizza stone that will fit on the BBQ and the BBQ can be uses as an oven. It is one of the features that I want because I can use it to bake when it is 110 here in the summer. The Oven makes the house too hot

I know what you mean, the oven makes the house hot here too. We don't get nearly as hot, usually 80s and 90s, sometimes closer to 100 but rare, but still wayyyy too hot to use in summer.
