All that time off gives you time to look for another job. Do you like working there?

I do actually, but with two chefs plus 2 cooks, I don't get to do much cooking anymore. Mostly just cleaning and washing dishes.
Turns out that there was a miscommunication between the kitchen and housekeeping. For some reason the housekeeping supervisor thought she could schedule me there. The kitchen manager told her that he needed me in the kitchen. But she said she needed me, so he scheduled me less. Then she didn't schedule me because she thought I was in the kitchen. Adam has decided that he wants me in the kitchen, so he's going to meet with the housekeeping supervisor and give me a bunch more hours. Phew.

Yep, he'll be going from one to the other to the last one. He ordered new dress whites because, yeah, well....um...okay, his other ones shrunk in the closet! The last time he wore his dress whites was in 2007 when he attended Jamie's graduation from Nuke Training school. I probably won't get to go to the ceremonies but I already know what he's going to say - I wrote his speech!

Jenny and Kenny don't have the day off and the girls are out of school as of yesterday, so the school cafeteria staff has to put the kitchen to bed for the summer on Monday and Tuesday. Originally it was supposed to be Tuesday and Wednesday, but boss lady decided she had something to do on Wednesday and got approval from the school for the holiday pay. And of course the grocery store and the deli are open on Monday, so there went Kenny's day off. Jenny called her boss to suggest that the three of them go in at around 11 so that I could go to at least one of the ceremonies first , but boss didn't sound like she liked that idea. So I'll stay home.

Funny story. On the way home from Cody the other day Ken said, "I wonder where my dress white shoes are...." I said, "Each shoe is wrapped in a protector and each one is in a separate pocket in the hanging shoe caddy." Now, mind you, the shoe caddy has clear pockets all the way down, and it's hanging in the hallway leading to the back rooms of the house - office, bathroom, back porch and bedroom. So later on that day I heard some rummaging around back there and thought Fiona was exploring so I went to check. There was Ken, on his knees on the floor with a flashlight looking under the bed. His side of the closet door was open and the stuff that's usually on the floor of the closet was on the floor of the bedroom. "WHAT are you doing?" He looked up and said, "I'm looking for my (cuss word cuss word cuss word) white shoes. I took 6 steps out of the bedroom, pulled out his shoes from the plastic pockets on the shoe caddy, and handed them to him. "These shoes?" "Yeah, where were they?" <Groan> I wonder sometimes how he found his ships.

@DigMyChicks Those look amazing!!! I don't even like chocolate and my mouth is watering!!

@Michelle Farmer-Brown Glad that is straightened out! I was afraid I was going to have to head your way and let 'em have it....I didn't wanna do that on accounta I'm a coward!

@KDOGG331 Congrats on the graduation. Now that that's behind you, I can unblock you. Yep, had ya blocked for a while there, girly-girl. Figured I couldn't change your study habits but I darn sure wasn't going to be another in your long list of distractions. I believe it's called "Tough Love".

Whew! Now I'm tired!! And I'm not even caught up with responses! Been reading regularly but not taking the time to post. I know, I know....baaaad Blooie!

Probably had someone to follow. Or as an officer, was escorted. Maybe you should have told him where the shoes were when he asked ... or get new batteries for his hearing aids (or GET hearing aids!). Hopefully his dress white shoes didn't shrink in the closet too!

Amazon...Cakes of Eden...these are great quality...make sure they are that brand as some are flimsy. They aren’t cheap. I got a 6 pack for $20 but they aren’t unavailable right now.

Will do, they move to the brooder today... Won't know how many until we open up the hatching tray, but we see little beaks poking out...



Barred Hollands today. Also have Rhode Island White, Royal Palm, and Bourbon Red eggs working. Next week I'll hope to add Black and Nari to the mix. And I'll also have to figure out room in the schedule to brood ducks.

OMG hilarious! Well, not so hilarious for you aha I swear men don't look for anything. My dad and one of my brother's do that too. Ask before they even look. Or "look" but not move anything. Sometimes a certain food item or something will be behind something, I move one or two things and voila. I swear they don't actually look. Then sometimes I'll ask, "did you look?" "Yes I looked! I looked all over." "So if I go look right now, I'm not going to find it?" *adamant that I won't.* *I find it* lol

Evidently they are not actually looking. I sometimes wonder if they don't hope to just stare at the cabinet or fridge or whatever and have it just magically appear without lifting a finger.

Or they don't listen. No matter how many times I say we now store some food under the island so to be sure to look there, seems someone always forgets. Granted, we never used to store stuff there until recently, but I could say it daily, and still they'll forget to look in that one.

My little brother is especially helpless. "There's no food" and won't make himself anything... usually ends up buying something.

And oh wow! How long was I blocked for? Lol glad I can be unblocked now.
