I don't know either but all my life I heard that term used when you got bitten by something you couldn't see, "no see'ums" :lau

One of my 6 week old chicks was jumping up in the air and biting the air constantly. I thought she had some weird neurological problems. Nope. Turns out it was nosee'ems.

When we had our little farm, it was about 50 miles east of Gainesville, sort of north/central FL. We had no-seeums, Love bugs, mosquitos, stink bugs, lizards, snakes, tree frogs and about every other kind of critter.

oh, i was raised in ft.walton bch, met husband when he was stationed down at hurlbert air force base LOOOONG time ago. if we had no seeums i never knew it but we had everything else, some of those were my toys and pets, altho tree frogs were kinda rare, guess thats why snakes don't bother me altho i will kill a poisonous one if i run across one, everything else is safe:)
