Then they would look like a giant spinner bait! :lau The Navy did tests on wet suit colors back in the 50's, they found that black and yellow striped wet suits really attracted sharks. Solid color didn't attract the sharks as much! :hmm

That actually makes sense. They say you are not supposed to wear shiny stuff either. My guess is that the black suit looks like just another seal so it won't really attract more, they'll just try to eat when they're hungry? Whereas weird colors and shiny stuff they're probably like what is that weird looking thing and want to go investigate? They are very curious

Yep, when I was out on Johnston Atoll, I was divining the reef one afternoon. I almost got swallowed whole by a 17ft. Tiger shark! Yikes!!! :eek:I had a black wet suit and yellow fins.;) I was surfacing up to a zodiac and as I was pulling myself aboard, my friends literally yanked me into the boat. I was like what's the matter with you guys? I heard a commotion behind me, turned around and saw the biggest shark I had ever seen. I started shaking pretty bad....but normally out there they didn't bother a diver. The only thing that could have triggered it was the black and yellow combination of the wet suit and fins. :idunno
