Awesome pics!
And is memorizing it common or do most people just write the number down somewhere? Because I felt like a bit of a dummy for not having it memorized or with me
I would imagine most everybody memorizes... my boys know theres and so do hubby and I. I know hubby’s also.

You only have to file if you make a certain amount of money.

I really don't know WHY I know my SSN, I've just known it for WAY longer than you have been alive. Could be that before all the issues with identity theft, your SSN was used for a ton of stuff so maybe you just used it enough to memorize it. I'd bet that neither of my girls (23 and 25) could give their SSN.

So I assume I would be under that amount?

And that makes sense! Glad I'm not the only one that doesn't have it memorized too. Although I think I will now. I already have the last 4 memorized so it shouldn't be too much more work to remember the other numbers

Having a puppy made me seriously consider only adopting older dogs from that day forth! I didn't think I'd ever even want another dog, let alone a puppy. Libby must be a really good pup! And I'm sure all the training you've done with her has helped a lot too.

I was thinking about getting a whippet for rodent control but then I read that they are known as 'velcro dogs' because they like to follow you EVERYWHERE (including the bathroom). I'm the kind of person that needs my space (seriously) so now I'm thinking about an Australian terrier as they are the softest breed of terrier, great with kids and the elderly, and they were developed to assist sheep farmers in Australia and they'll even take on snakes (not that they'd need to here). That's if we can afford one as the only breeders are down in Christchurch. I'm picking a puppy won't be cheap, then we'll have to fly it up.

The guy that came this morning to do a final inspection on our place so we can finally get a 'code of compliance' (once all the paperwork is done) couldn't believe our dog was 6 years old because she still acts like a puppy. He was thinking she was 1 or 2 years old. He was such a tall guy - he had to duck to go through doorways. My hubby isn't a small guy but he looked tiny compared to this guy.

Yeah, pups can definitely be a pain lol and aw thank you! I try to train her as often/best as I can. And Libby has just naturally always been a good puppy even before I started working with her, never ate anything and has her own clock. Although now she has hit the teenage/adolescent phase so she's gotten into the garbage a couple times (but they keep it on the ground with no lid) and she LOVES dogs and is now just under 70 pounds (69 point something, we weighed her last night) so she drags/lunges towards dogs, gave FSIL rope burn just last Monday, so they're enrolling her in the weekend program thing their friends opened (long story but his classmate and good friend opened a daycare and training place but sadly passed away in 2016, about a year after opening it, so her sister took it over) and they have a 4 or 5 day thing. But no openings until October. I have been working with her in the meantime and she's been making progress but I personally kind of think they shouldn't add more until Libby is trained/at least over this issue and also of the opinion Libby is so perfect, quiet, good, etc. Why miss with that? But they I guess have talked about it and feel that now is the time to get a second dog cause "when else are we gonna have the time to raise and train two dogs" and they also think that they should get a second dog while Libby is young and more accepting and that by the time they have kids, the dogs will already be 3 or 4 and calm and then the kids will tire them out. All good points I suppose but the house also isn't that big and they haven't told my parents yet. And it's another Pyrenees mix. Pyrenees/Collie they say but that's what they said about Libby too lol it's a different group though and he's not fixed and they say they can fix him whenever they want as long as they promise to do it which they like because early spay/neuter can cause problems in large/giant breeds. Libby was already spayed at 12 weeks :/ anyway, he's also really fluffy unlike any of our current Pyrenees mixes lol but they're excited and Libby needs a friend so I tried not crush them too much lol

When I was in college it was used as our ID number. That is when I memorized mine. I had to give it out a jillion times.

Oh wow couldnt someone steal it? We had to use the last 4 of ours for our password for the school's portal, different/random ID number.

I have the numbers of everyone else in the family written down...and on a photo in my phone.

I need them often. For taxes, I need the kid's socials, and medical insurance. Not sure what else... but several times a year.

A photo is a good idea!

And that makes sense. My dad does the taxes (plus I've never filed) and I'm still on their insurance so I guess I've just never really needed mine.

When I started high school everyone had to submit an application for SS. We got our cards in the mail, I memorized it and can recall it to this day. The Medicare no. used to be the same - now they changed it - its seemingly, a random collection of digits and letters and I can't remember it at all.

So SS was new then?

I not only know mine, but I actually know Ken’s too. When we were in the Navy, they switched from service numbers for each member of the military to their Socials. So if I had to call Navy housing about a leaky faucet, the dry voice on the other end of the phone would say, “service member’s social please....” my entire identity was Ken’s SS#.

Wow you have a good memory and that must have been kind of annoying having to rattle the number off every time but I guess you'd get used to it. And slightly random but I assume you moved a lot? I think I have too much stuff to move a lot or even once.

Thanks Alaskan, now we know - we just have to high jack your phone;)

Lol

Actually... people from Jamaica have been calling people up here in the Homer area...... saying they are from Publishers Clearinghouse. Crazy stupid scam.

I always thought publishers was kinda scammy anyway, all the claims you could win all this money for life

:frowits three fifteen am here... Silly dog got me up because she wanted to go outside... She has a doggy door... I get up and she is waiting at the doggy door... I tell her to go outside... and she does... Could have done it all without waking me up....:barnie

shes a sweetie though has PTSD from being almost killed by a German Shepherd... When we adopted her she came with a file of her medical records.... ONE INCH THICK. All her surgeries and recovery time....

Its her first doggy door I am certain we had to teach her how to use it.... Yard is safe and fenced here in the city.... She spends her time hunting gophers digging little skinny trenches along their path.... Mind you this is a sixty five pound Greater mountain Swiss Cross.... raised with goats and chickens... reduced to hunting gophers...

Special animals find their way to my home and I have never had such a gentle dog... So I really dont mind getting up.... she needs reassurance that someone is on duty while she leaves her station.

deb Going back to bed now....

Aww poor thing. She sounds like she's in a good home with you though! :love

Gator won't go outside without someone either lately. I think he is going deaf and/or blind though and is sick so I think he's more scared/clingy/needy. :(

Awesome pics!

Wow you must have a good memory too!

I need to memorize mine I guess.

Should be REALLY tasty!

The chorizo in the spaghetti sauce was good! I enjoyed the different taste and DH & DS both liked the extra zip :D (although DS also added a lot of crushed red peppers to his).

OMG I thought it was pumpkin.....

I couldn't figure out the bacon & egg reference and you thought my orange was a pumpkin...I'd say we're getting along famously Deb (doing a real good job confusing each other :lau).

Al, you know those phone calls are a scam. After all, I've already been told by an Eastern European that I won! Waiting for the check to hit my bank account any day now.

Good morning all! TGIF! I have to do cupcakes and cutout cookies for a baby shower tomorrow when I’m done with work today. The baby isn’t due for 3 months so not sure why they are doing it so early. Oh well, I’ll do what I have to do. Have a good day.

I want to see the stuff you make for the baby shower DMC! You always do such nice work.

Good morning Sean, and everyone else. Wow, today the humidity has gone someplace else, and it is cool-er and windy. Nice.

Cooler here this morning too DD...33* when I got up.

DH was excited, that means he gets to stick the "frost delay" sign up at the golf course and he'll be able to get some stuff done before the golfers show up.
