The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Morning all :frow I was stuffed last night. The two year old Tom turned out great.

So Julia Child was a real help Bob? My brother is a very good cook and he swears by her.

How many pounds of leftover turkey do you have left :gig

I won't know until I clean the bones later today. But not much. I braised the legs and thighs and started them 90 minutes before the breast. The braising liquid added to the gravy made it phenomenal.

If we don't go to Casper today, I'll be bone cleaning too (yuck, my least favorite part of doing turkey).

I like to use the giblets in our gravy...what did you do with those?

husband picks the meat off the bones for me while i wash everything up :thumbsup

I'll use them in the gravy or the stuffing, but already ate them way back when... I added onions, carrots, celery, garlic and herbs to the breast after it was in for an hour to cook in the turkey fat and I deboned the back and neck so added the veg and meat to the gravy. I'll freeze the carcass for the next time I make stock.

morning sour:frow
sorry about your beagles but at least they were well loved

They never went hungry - death by food.

Daughter had to tell all yesterday about me and my turkey soup. I would take the carcass , neck, giblets and make about 5 gallons of soup which we then ate for weeks - major dislike on the part of the family. :gig
