The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Me too! I don't know why it flared up again. Either twisted in my sleep or tossed and turned to much...Idk, it's about this time it starts ramping up, again. I try not to take pain killers, only if it's serious pain. I know that's not what doctors recommend, they want you to stay ahead of the pain.
I only take pain killers if it's at 8 or above.
With my high tolerance to pain, most people would be taking pain killers at 5 or 6...that's just background, everyday pain for me. I tend to just ignore it.
ouch, hope it stops again:hugs

Kelsey, I was in and out during the dog show. I have a bad habit of getting stuff done as quick as I can UNTIL they show a breed I either particularly like, or one that I was learning judging on. Ken will yell, “Water Spaniel” or “Clumber” or whatever, and if I want to see that breed. Then I stand in the living room with dishwater dripping on the floor from my hands and watch very intensely, heading back to the kitchen when that breed is done! I do watch Westminster start to finish, though.

Ohhh okay, that makes sense and is actually probably a better way. We didn't even watch it or even football cause we were all just talking plus where we had it this year, they don't really have a good, big TV room where everyone could fit. But I guess that's better. Sometimes at the other side of the family, it's always get there way too early, eat, then everyone kind of just sits around and watches football and one of the other TVs someone usually puts the dog show. And we stay way too late lol I guess it is nice theyre more social though but we were tired lol and day after we drove around with aunt and uncle looking for amish people aha we went to lunch too and saw my moms old college but then we were driving like 2 hours in countryside. That is DB and I, mom stayed with grandparents while we did lunch and all the driving around lol anyway, so cause there weren't really any TVs, I only watched a teeny bit of the dog show Thursday night. The spamiel was gorgeous though, I'm pretty sure it was a Springer Spaniel. I guess English? There is probably a clip of it online somewhere. There is a big dog show in Erie in January every year that I am planning on going to this year. Not as big as Westminster or the National Dog Show or Crufts or anything but pretty big. I think I would like to go to Westminster or the National show sometime too though. I think the National show is actually before Thanksgiving sometime, maybe mid November? And they just air it on Thanksgiving. I think it's in Philly.

I went to the ER this morning. The pain just keeps getting worse. But not much got accomplished other than getting some rxs that i can't fill because it is Sunday.
Not what we want hear Cap. Hope you can find a doc that will do what's necessary to figure out what is wrong/causing the pain. :hugs

Blooie what year/years did you show at International Kennel Club, I was a handler's flunkie for several years, before that I showed unsuccessfully as a kid. I think my first show was when I was 11 or 12= 1958 - 1959 etc. and then in 1960's and in the 1970's worked for a handler my age. We knew each other from early encounters - well actually he totally ignored me.

Then he got out of the army (he was serving our country from Puerto Rico) and also divorced. When he found out we had moved and were about 1.5 blocks from him, he came looking for me. My mother said he wanted to talk to me. I wanted to stay hidden in my closet.

I came out and he hired me if you want to call it that. No money just he would show my dogs for free ,for all and I mean ALL the work he heaped on me. One of my breeder friends gave me a very pretty little silver buff Cocker girl and said I would use her as a brood matron. Ha. DJ(Him) looked it over and said "maybe he could finish her."

I told him not only would she finish fast, she would be a group contender. Her first show she won the puppy sweepstakes and I was offered $ 1500. for her. I turned it down because she was a gift to me. Well her breeder was furious that I didn't sell her.

She also won 5 pts. from puppy class. She finished in a flash. The breeder had her full older sister that was one of the top sporting dogs, and I think one year was the top. Ch.Sagamore Toccoa. She was big and doggy. Mine was small and feminine - Ann Hone Rodgers Clark judged her 3times. First gave her a fourth in group. Next time a third. Third time put her group second. Never got a chance to show under her again.

Anyway because of HER at the start of DJ's hander license - got tons of business and a huge following for Sprite. People would ask where Sprite was and I'd say I'm her owner. They would rush past me.

You could always tell were DJ was because she would be on top of a crate or table and would keep an eye on him- just follow her gaze.

Saw some great dogs back them The many Springer Spaniel chs. Salilyn's Adament James, Sophistication, Aristocrat. Peggy Hoag had a great maltese she showed
Ch.Aenchen's(spelled wrong I'm sure) Maya Dancer, Fred Aderman with "Ch.Akaba's Molly Brown (Afhan Hound). Chris Oglanian had gorgeous Black Standard Poodle - loved every one of them. Perfectly sane dogs and great sense of humor. But, heavy to lift into a raised laundry tub to bathe.

Nancy(can't remember) last name showed beautiful soft coated Wheatons under the "Winter Wheat " Banner. Gosh I miss those folks.

Oof forgot the "Shamrock Acres," labradors. Probably many more that will come to me in my sleep. Those where good times. The dog people were my tribe. My parents hated the dog shows and later days when I was breeding show dogs. Who knows what would have happened if I had been born into a dog friendly family.:ya
