The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning everyone!

@The Farmers' Daughter is that you with Santa in your avatar? Hope he got you everything on your wish list!

@KDOGG331 glad to hear you and your family enjoyed the Collins Street Bakery fruitcake!

Brrr, going to be cold here the next several days. It's 22* now with 26* our high, and our overnight lows in the single digits (or lower) the next few nights.
Yup. That was me. Volunteered at my work yesterday, and Santa stopped by. My boss makes Christmas dinner for the people in the community who don't have anywhere to go celebrate.

Fun picture, I'm glad you shared it! Did you enjoy volunteering for the dinner yesterday? That's a really nice thing for your boss (and the volunteers) to do!

How is Opie @N F C ?

He's slowly getting better and his limp is gone. He's still not his normal rambunctious self but is acting like he is enjoying more of his usual things, like sitting on the couch with DH and I.

Funny, Pip and Bam Bam seem to think they need to fill in for Opie's lack of orneriness. Those 2 have more than made up for Opie!

Thanks for asking Michelle :hugs

I have not watched the documentary yet but I would like to. It looks fascinating. I just bought myself a Mr Rogers DVD last night, got like 30 classic episodes. Figured it would be good to have in case I ever have kids or nieces or nephews, much better than most of the programs these days. Plus I used to like that show a lot.

Thanks, definitely enjoyed it! Thanks for the suggestion! Was delicious.

Lol, I enjoyed watching Mr. Rogers more than my kids did. He was a bit too low-key for them :)

Also I realized in my post before I jumped straight to the gift part, which may have seemed a bit gaudy or rude or whatever, but I was just so excited about them I had to share. But the rest of Christmas was good too. I just got so excited and forgot to share ha Christmas was fairly quiet this year because we stayed home but we had dinner together. DB and FSIL went to VT on Saturday and coming back after New Year’s so we did not see them but other DB was home and we had dinner both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Christmas Eve we had ham, scallloped potatoes, and creamed spinach. Yesterday we had roast beef, green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes (sweet potato and regular potato blend). Both very good dinners. And then we watched a movie last night. Took forever to decide on a movie lol (like half hour, hour) but we finally decided on Marvel of all things :lau but my mom ended up going to bed but my brother, dad and I all watched it. I got my brother some gift cards and a nice pajama set and it was so cute, after dinner he put them on immediately lol then he went back upstairs and took the shirt off and came back down with a different shirt. Turns out he doesn’t really like pajama shirts cause they don’t have buttons and hang really loose on the arm, he likes them tighter around the wrist, but the set did look nice the brief time he had the set on, and I’m just glad he liked it all and liked it enough to wear it immediately. And his gift was very thoughtful. I did not even tell him about the show or really ever mention that band but he figured it out all on his own based on a password I had for something and it was so cute. He was actually worried that I had already bought the tickets (cause I usually do just buy tickets in advance for shows I want to go to) but for some reason I had not bought tickets for this one yet even though I really want to go so it worked out perfectly lol so that’s probably my favorite thing, even more than the iPad, just cause it was so cute and thoughtful. Although of course I do love the iPad too. But I also am loving this keyboard case they got. So much easier to type my novels. :lau

We had snow yesterday. More snow fell during the night. And it's snowing again right now.

Enough already! :gig

We finally got a little bit last night...just that soft, gentle, quiet snowfall against the street lights, the kind that Christmas commercials glamorize. So beautiful! Today the sun is shining brightly and THERE’S NO WIND! Unheard of in Wyoming!

It's easy to get down during Christmas time I think...especially when you've been fighting health problems. Everything just kind of adds up and wears a person out.

I'm really hoping next year turns out to be a healthier, easier one for you and Sean and anyone else that's been struggling. :hugs

Me tooooooo!!

Good morning everyone - shaping up to be a beautiful day here.

Here too! Kenny’s car broke down in Powell on Christmas Eve day, so he took Jenny’s beat up old van to work. He and Ken are going to go see if they can figure it out when Kenny gets off. Always something. This weekend we are taking Evan to Billings. All he wanted for was “a parakeet in a bird cage”, sung to 12 Days of Christmas. So we got him the cage, a book on taking care of them, and the accessories. He gets to choose his birds. Some things you just can’t wrap and hide!

I loved Mr. Rogers....my kids not so much but they had no taste!
