The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I love cheese so I'll have to try these sometime. I was wondering what a biscuit was to you guys. In NZ a biscuit is a hard cookie (so they are sweet, not savoury). I much prefer my cookies soft and gooey. Although my Mum makes a yummy dessert made from bought/packaged chocolate chip biscuits. They really aren't the nicest things as a biscuit but made into a dessert they are yum. You dip each one in sherry and butter it with whipped cream (the real thing) to stick it to the next one, repeating until you have a log, then you cover the log in more whipped cream and put whatever decoration you like on top. Made the day before the sherry flavours the cream by the time it's served and the cookies go soft. I don't like cream that much, I don't like sherry, and those biscuits would be the last thing I'd choose to eat, but all together they are a winning combo.

Your biscuit/cookie dessert is a lot like one I've made in the past with chocolate wafer cookies and whipping cream. No sherry was involved though.

Had a spinach and cheddar cheese omelet, just a little 2 egg omelet in the small pan, so not a very big omelet but delicious, and blueberry pancakes, made 2 huge ones rather than a bunch of small ones, those probably weren’t very healthy but I did eat spinach and get blueberries in (I put a lot in them) and limited the syrup and I had apple cider vinegar (the good Braggs organic with the mother kind), wildflower honey, and a splash of lemon juice, in hot water cause I think it’s supposed to be good for colds/immune system, and I woke up with a stuffy nose, dry irritated eyes, and a bit of a cough/scratchy throat, and my chest feels a bit funny, congested or something, so wanted the boost aha it did at least boost my energy too and I do feel a bit better. Weird way to start the New Year but I am feeling a bit better. Tomorrow dad and I are starting diets or at least eating way better and exercising. We are possibly going to throw away or hide all the processed foods too or at least the really bad stuff and no bread, pancakes, etc. My dad especially is a big bread eater. Oh and we all went out to breakfast yesterday.

We will be having left over rib roast from Sunday.
Well, except for DD1 the vegetarian. I never have much of an idea what she will be eating for dinner. When I ask what she wants she most often says "I don't know". I tired a LONG time ago of telling her that I don't know how to make "I don't know". Hopefully she'll have better luck at school, we leave Thursday morning.

There will be tours and there is a Festival coming up at the end of the month.

Lots of duck hunting too
HOPEFULLY not during the tours! It might upset the bird watchers something awful!

I got a pack of hamburger out of the freezer. It’s sitting out to thaw. I can hardly wait to see what it grows up to be!
hamburgers
meat loaf
spaghetti with meatballs or meat sauce
sloppy Joes
tacos

Let us know!

We had that growing up. Layers of thin chocolate wafter cookies, whipped cream and shredded coconut. Haven't seen that kind of cookie for some time.

That is very true about the difference between the two places and a biscuit!

Here biscuits are sometimes uses for strawberry short cake

I have the recipe written out (before I lost which page it was on) and I'll be adding some items to my shopping list so I can try them out soon.
When one I want pops up here, I'll copy and paste it into my email and save it as a draft.
