Okay, that's a consensus! :lau
Hey you can't expect everyone to be reloading this thread every 5 seconds!! I didn't get to vote!!!!
"Oh, post them, Blooie!"

I know the backstory and Whoo hoo!! :hugs :love
I've never understood the tennis ball on the back thing, especially outdoors.

Princess make soup ? I took over the cooking in '92. She has not cooked a meal since then.
Slacker. I took over when I met DW, back in '89. She will bake but make dinner? I'd starve.

Your timing is perfect. I'm sitting here with my shoulders screaming at me. Maybe I was out in the cold too long today. Princess make soup ? I took over the cooking in '92. She has not cooked a meal since then.
ok, you have to make it, it calls for a rotisserie chicken but i had chicken in the fridge so i baked it and cooled it and then shredded it with a fork and used that also recommend cutting the recipe in half cause it makes quite alot i loved it and so does husband and usually i don't care for chicken soup, i had everything it called for so i didn't need to buy anything except a 16 qt pot because it makes quite alot so you can freeze it for in a hurry supper

Backstory: Because Kendra has suffered a few major bruises from snapping the stainless steel twister cables on her braces because her legs need so much correction to center, and because she's so doggone active she stresses the braces. Climbing on furniture, doing headstands (sorta), crawling and just her high activity level was hard on them and on her legs and hips. So the school, the kids, and Kendra's physical therapist decided that the best thing to do was just have her wear them during the school day. Her activity level is lower then...no couch to get on!

Then Tuesday they told Jen that she's very stable in the walker now, so what they wanted to do was leave her braces on when the school day ends, and and have her wear them and use the walker at home so she could learn in the house as well as at school. She can only do it for an hour to an hour and half at home, then they come off for the day. They also let Jen take the walker home. This is a BIG GIRL walker...no safety straps or seat like her old one had. And these braces are not the same spun stainless steel type as her old ones were, so they are uncomfortable to crawl in....think crawling and then going into a sitting position with a broom strapped to each leg! :lau

So in the first video, Jenny had just picked her up from school and brought her over to show off a little for Gramma and Grampa. In the second video, which Jenny took and then sent me, her walker was in the kitchen and Kendra crawled over to it, pulled it to herself, and then used it in their house without the braces on, with a little encouragement from Jenny. At the end of the video you might notice that she gets it kinda stuck between her little couch and the coffee table. What she's been doing is using it in the house, walking to her little couch, transitioning from the walker to the couch, then positioning the walker so she can immediately get into it if she wants too! But this time the wheel hit the end of her couch and shifted it, so Jenny had to shut off the phone and help her so I haven't seen her do that part yet.

As for the tennis balls on walkers, I've done it to mine before I got my updated model. It makes the back legs move much smoother on floors (not so hot on concrete, though!) and carpets. Without them, I often had to physically pick up the back legs of the walker to get it over thresholds, etc. It also helps with speed of locomotion - you can go faster if the back end glides rather than drags. Kendra's not stable enough yet for wheels front and back, and as you can see from the video she likes speed! It would be far to easy for a fully wheeled walker to get away from her but wheeled is the ultimate goal. Right now she'd get hurt, and while it probably wouldn't do more than skin her knees or give her a little thump down onto her hiney, it might shake her confidence and keep her from wanting to do more with the walker. So, tennis balls. Besides, it's fun to watch their dog try to get them - he tried, though! Butterbean knows better than to get close to Kendra when she's on the floor, something I still need to work with Fee on doing.

And she was TALKING in the video! Yayyy, Kendra!! :ya
