The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I was trying to teach a cockatoo to talk once and my Mom was visiting. After listening to me repeat the same word over and ovet, Mom said to the bird, "If you don't learn to talk, we are going to treat you like that chicken that went in the oven last night!" Do you know that bird talked the very next day? :gig
Bird: :eek::lol:

believe me if i didn't have to go back i sure wouldn't but husband has to have his drivers renewed before the 19th, we have to get the taxes to send off and i have to go to the dr., hoping its something simple and i can take a antibiotic for it :idunno
Do you still have bruises?

I just started cooking supper and was looking for the date on my brats...usually I do that at the store. They were outdated in October. I bought them a couple weeks ago. Hattie will enjoy them. Wish I would have saved my slip:hmm

Ugh, don't you hate that? There are 2 grocery stores in town and one of them is notorious for not pulling past-dated food off their shelves.

Yes!! I know this store pulls it. We only have this one. I worked twice for him. Second time I should have been hit on the head. I quit for a reason the first time.

No checking by some authority? The family owned store I frequent marks the meat down the day before it's expiration date. Once found a display of crackers at a big chain store that had expired a year before :sick

Back when I lived in KS, a friend of mine worked for some company that hired people to check expiration dates in grocery stores. She said she was shocked when learning some of what went on with dates on food. One place would actually re-wrap meat that was expiring and then label it with a new date. My friend kind of liked the job but said some of the store management wasn't so crazy about her. :lol:

big time, not to mention getting hive type marks that fade like a blood blister, don't know what it is unless its lyme disease

Sorry to hear that Sharron. Hope the doctor can figure out what's going on and how to treat it.
