The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Reading that directly after Kdogg's dietary post sent my brain to "but it is too early for peas". Then figured out you weren't making a suggestion of something to add to her snack tray.

But you are right, lots of things are great right off the plant.

Keep up Bruce! :lau

Hey, it wasn't ME who posted healthy food options right after a post on the same topic!

:lau I still need to get my peas in the ground! And my seeds started! At this rate I am going to have no vegetables. :hide

Morning everyone! :frow

Thunderstorms and a real cool electrical display going on this morning. So far, no severe storms. Although, the lighting's pretty close, just hit a tree by one of my pens. It just keeps coming in waves. Started about 5:30 am.

Everyone make it a great day! :celebrate

Good morning everyone!

Allegedly I am considered borderline type 2 diabetes - For several years I've been on 500 mg.metformin once a day. I used to exercise a lot (loved walking) but decided I loved to take long naps instead. But I am also on generic lipitor, which raises blood sugar and was on that before I had borderline sugar levels.:idunno

Can't recall what I am on that can cause cateracts but, told the doc I was too young(at the time) to have them. His come back was even babies can have them. A neighbor's brother is blind and yet they removed cataracts he had. Said something about how bad it would be for him if they didn't???

IF you don't take meds you lose IF you do take meds you lose (something):confused::confused:

Moderator, if this should be moved somewhere else, please do so. Thank you.

The anti-depressant I've been on for many years at a low dose, was fine- then I outlived two psychiatrists, both lost to different types of cancer. Got a once a month psychiatrist at a clinic. He decided I should be doing much better (really I was fine) and pushed me up to 4 x the original dose. When I tried to see him again about lowering my dose - (even the pharmacist said that was too much for a mature adult(senior)-) they said he had UP and gone to NM. Wonder if he was trying to escape before they could get him for malpractice. The clinic never replaced him.

At any rate can't find a psychiatrist to lower the dose because they don't want to accept medicare. Would have to have dosage reduced bit by bit, because changes Up or down can bring on seratonin syndrome which is life threatening. I know how to bring it down slowly but have no one to write prescriptions - for instance one month at 30 mg, next month 20 mg. and either stay there or down to 10mg. the original dose.

Mature adults(there's that word again) have slower metabolism so it takes longer to move it out. The bad side effects - I get way too bold and often go around with a chip on my shoulder - daring someone to knock it off. One day someone will knock my block off.
Or I'll run off at the mouth just because I can.

Another point - yes depression needs to be treated with meds, or talk therapy or both.BUT I think they like to over treat shy reclusive folks because that just "isn't normal".WHAT ????
If everyone was bold as brass or/and "THEIR way' or the highway. There would be a lot of casualties.

If anyone wants to discuss their depression or ??? there is a Depression thread in existence on BYC. I, in no way could/would recommend a medication for anyone. Everyone is different and a good doctor will take quite awhile deciding if you have for instance situational depression /lost your job, your hen, or boy/girl friend or if you are severely depressed and should be hospitalized . ECT (electro-convulsive treatment) more commonly called shock treatments, help some. But the only ones who improved fast were women with post partum depression. My younger friend totally recovered after two treatments. Was like a miracle.
